Zub 41r I’m pretty sure we have a £10m minimum fee release clause in the professional contract we offered him a few weeks ago. He is 17 now and officially a professional no longer on a youth contract. I’m almost certain there’s a £10m release clause. He’s worth all of that and more

A lot of comments about the Newcastle injuries and the amount of games over the Christmas period, nothing about the 9 injuries that Rochdale have had and the hectic schedule with Academy players making up the squad for the last couple of months, the defence was a makeshift one for the game against Newcastle following injuries to Paul McShane, not sure why BBM didn't play Matherson from the start but what a second half performance which all regular Dale supporters know we can produce against any team. Newcastle could have had four in the first half Dale could have had four in the second. Looking forward to the replay.

This must have been the Newcastle fans booing at the end. Rochdale played well with guts and determination. They did the same thing to Manchester United last year (1-1), during their cup game last year, only to see MU squeak by on penalties. All the hate on Joelinton seems to be more emotional than logical. Bruce seems to insist on playing a 5-4-1, sitting back on defense, and counter-attacking football. As such, Newcastle have very little possession, which I believe Joelinton needs in order to thrive. Despite his size and physical strength he is not the type of player to hold the ball up. He did miss quite a few chances today but how often do we see other forwards having lots of opportunities and not taking them? Just the fact that Joelinton had multiple excellent chances is encouraging to me, and the fact that Newcastle had over 60% possession is the main reason for him having those chances. I don't think we'll see Joelinton scoring more until Bruce emphasizes possession rather than counter-attacking.
