Thanks for your videos. It would be nice if you could slow down at intersections in order to read street names. According to Google Maps, the house my father was born in on Syke St in 1924 is still occupied. The city, as I recall it from back in 1962, looks much the same. A lot of the houses were built in the late 1800s. It doesn't look like there's been any improvement since.

Superb Vid. Grew up in the 80's in Binghamton, 3 or so hrs South. In those days we would hit NYC, Syracuse or Roch for entertainment. In the end we tended to head towards the RO. So cool to see it once again 30 yrs later. TY

When I got my license in the 90s as a kid, i would drive in and explore the hoods of Rochester. A lot less building now and Lyell ave somehow looks nicer now the. It did. Still, it looks like not much has changed. I did like driving around the hoods of the north side more. Clinton Joseph Hudson and Portland were always more lively. I am still sad that Paul Bunyan is gone. Now i live in Baltimore and the Rochester Hoods look like Pittsford by comparison

@Kani I'm driving back with the wife and dogs for Christmas from Colorado. Yes! New York really is that bad. Only reason we are making the trip is to see family. It's cold, wet, gloomy, and the economy is absolute shit in rochester. Believe me. I used to be a landlord in rochester and I'm a top notch skilled tradesmen who works in mansions in denver. Rochester is trash!!! Compared to the rest of the country. You only live one time. May as well be in the sun. Take this as a lesson kani

@@CookiExMonster1 maybe u took my comment a little direct but I mean like vacations or tripes when I’m gone for a week or two I miss home and I’m 20 I miss my friends going out and family New York for sure is the most boring with not as much stuff to do around here when it’s not summer I grew up in the city and moved to the suburbs I just like the peace and quiet but I definitely agree with u

@Kani hahaha I always take it directly hahaha. Happier than hell to get out. Unfortunately most of my friends were negative about me moving away. Misery loves company. Rochester is very much different than the city. I still like to go to the city for a quick vacation. Bomb food and fun bars.

Did real estate for a while & had 3 listings on Otis St. Area wasn't good back then but now it's pretty wild. The end of your vid u turned left down Cameron St, once had a high school love there. How old is the vehicle you're driving? That sounds like a blinker relay from my 64 international pickup truck. Plus I interviewed at the power plant by the bridge. Lost my job before I freaked out when we went from ground level to a open walkway into the gorge below where the generators sit. Did get to look into the burn 🔥 box where half a ton of coal was burned per minute. Lol

I didn't mind the city when I live there. As long as you mind your business you'll be fine. But I was elated to get away from was the prejudice white people! Rochester is segregated. Most of the white people that live there thinks that the everything should belong to them alone. Even though the Aboriginal people were there first. But of course these people don't know their history and they just think everything should be theirs. For me personally living in the suburbs was worse than living in the city. My 1-year-old was never called the N word buy another toddler in the city. But she was definitely called that by WHITE toddler in the suburbs. Gotta love it😂

When they were in the country you all wanted them to move into the city. Now that they're in the city you want them to move where? Especially considering the fact that some of those people are from there. So they should move? Because you said so? I'm so disappointed that the Haitian immigrants didn't get dumped in Rochester.
