It's N scale Mark... Can you believe that???!!! I've been watching Mr. Daryl for a very long time. I am an HO scale modeler but still can't believe I am watching in scale. Another great operating video Mr. Daryl!!!! Love the progress as well!!!

Awesome video, I learn a lot more on operations of a layout. I am like seeing you run more that one train at a time, looks great. Thanks for sharing, Ken

i remember when they had more coal trains through rochelle, listening to dispatch, they would make sure coal trains were cresting the hill before letting whats following it go through rochelle. havent railfan in rochelle in a while, besides seeing big boy there this year.

UPRR uses an Alphanumeric code for its train symbols. IYCMX 05 means Intermodal Yard Center, Il to Mexico originating on the 5th (of the current month). However, IYCMX5-05 means Intermodal Yard Center, Il to Mexico, 5th section originating on the 5th (day of the current month). Hope that explanation was helpful, sir. Great layout and happy modeling from Texas.

I like your taste in music. Your G3 switchers should be ex CNW 40 deuces (UP SD40Ns).

Daryl, Do you operate the layout in real time or with a speeded up clock? At a real intermodal yard this operation from start to finish can be 2 to 3 hrs. Loco's reattach to the front, pump up the air for a air /brake test as well the train will have a full inspection. Having alerted the dispatcher, the train has to wait until the dispatcher lets the train proceed on it's way. Cheers, Chris Perry
@EvanstonSub5 жыл бұрын
Neither real time or fast clock. I do allow 10 minutes or so for pumping up brakes, inspection, etc. But not 2 to 3 hours.

I don’t know if I missed it in another video, is the DPU that you put on just a dummy unit? Unless it was a cut scene, it didn’t look like you had to add it to the consist on your throttle.
@EvanstonSub5 жыл бұрын
Yes, its a dummy unit. I had a motor go out on a Kato unit, so instead of paying $30 for a new motor, I made it into a dummy. There are people who use powered units for DPUs. I have not yet tried.

Where did you get those patched sp units?
