In our country the Philippines, English is our second language. Back then, we were under the American occupation. But, our great grandparents can speak Spanish having existed during the Spanish period in the Philippines. In our generation, it's English that we are comfortable with. So, singing English songs??? It's easy.☺️

Music drives the hatred away. Even after a weather catastrophe, the Filipino still has a time to sing, and help each other thru' that's how resilient we are. Truly just satisfied with little of what we have. No time to complain, just do the best that you can to overcome hardships, we are not entitled!!! Rocio you'll love the Philippines thru it's people. If you come to our country, you'll learn how to be human and down to earth!!!

Thank you for appreciating our unknown kids singers in our country Philippines. I meet a lot of foreigners and most of them asking me why mostly very young children here in the Philippines can speak and understand English.I told them maybe because we Filipinos are fun of singing. We have to understand what the words means as we sing any kind of songs in order for us to feel ,own and nail the song. Thank you so much and GOD BLESS.

FYI.. the kid who sang DANCE WITH MY FATHER was evenly invited to sing in Ellen Degeneres show in US! Really hope you can one day come and visit the Philippines one day as you will never have culture shock as our country was colonized by Spain for more than 300 years. Also.. until 1950's, spanish is our national language then.

The video where the kid was singing Dance with My father went viral. Ellen saw it and invited the cousins to perform the song on her show. Prior to travelling to the Ellen show, the father passed away due to non hodgkin's lymphoma. That's why Ellen said that the song was MORE MEANINGFUL to the kid because of the passing of his dad. Kid's name is Aldrich Talonding and cousin is James. They sing in their church.

Thank you for this reaction video. Yes, you’re right. Amateur singing contests for kids and adults are popular all over the country. Many of them want to join singing contests on national TV. We were accustomed to singing even without accompaniment. We sing while cooking and in front of the stove, we sing while husking the floor, we sing in the bathroom and sometimes we sing at work. We sing anywhere whenever we feel like it. Maybe that's the nature of the Filipinos. When we court a girl, we go to their house at night bringing a guitar or someone who knows how to play the guitar and serenade her and there will be singing inside her house throughout the time while we were there. This has been a custom since the time of our ancestors.

I was shocked myself 'cause we discovered that 20 out of 32 of us can sing (prob half can actually SING and the rest can at least carry a tune). So yeah, it's not possible to give everyone a contract 'cause it also means giving half of the population contracts 🤣 P.S. I'm one of those who cannot sing, unfortunately. So I played as a leaf 😂😂😂
