This is honestly by far one of my favourite childhood movies of all time, and probably my favourite movie of all time. I remember watching this as a kid during my childhood, and throughout the years and even now I can't help myself in thinking about it, and even watching this, listening to the songs, soundtracks or just recalling my childhood. Literally what a legendary song this is, same thing with the story behind it, the characters, the actors, the soundtracks, music and much more. Like every scene of the movie is just pure joy and emotion, same thing with its music. Even as I'm writing this I'm getting so much nostalgia and childhood memories of watching this and listening to this as a kid. Even to this day, this movie and its story still brings me to joy as well as tears to my eyes especially with the way I grew up and the very first time I saw it, like I could just keep going on and on about how much this movie means to me even to this day. There's honestly so much words that I could possibly describe it, but to get it you honestly have to feel it since it just bring so much joy, emotion, feelings and much more. Like it honestly wouldn't even fit this box, I wouldn't even have any more characteristics to describe it. Like honesty, its one of my all-time favourite movies since I was a kid during my childhood and its honestly nice to see that this film also did the same to many others, especially with my generation. Like even now, its so rare to find anyone else that watched it, or even finding it in general. Glad that I still have the original cassete for it, since my childhood when I first watched it as a kid. Like even now as I'm listening to this like I said earlier, it just sad how time just passes by so fast and you don't even realize it. Such an extremely underrated film this was, like nowadays its like a hidden treasure since even Google Play doesn't have it. Only orignals like us have the original cassette for it and I'm real glad that I got to watch it on cassette as a kid, and still have it till this day. Its even more sad, that all these legends that made our childhood pass, but like they always say time doesn't stop, it just keeps going on and on. Don't bad sad that its over, be happy that it happened. Such good times this was, and such a throwback to my childhood. Just pure nostalgia and childhood memories as well. At least it can somewhat still be found on KZbin, even though there isn't much KZbin videos of its song, soundtracks, movie, and etc. Its literally a long lost treasure that people like us got to experience it only which just makes it even more special. Not only that but no matter how many years passed, this song never ages and never gets old. It still brings back the first time I've ever heard it, watched it, experienced it, ithe pure emotion, joy, and etc. LIke they honestly just don't make movies like these anymore, especially songs like these. Kids nowadays don't even understand how much movies like these meant to us. That's what makes it so unique, special and iconic for all of us. This is literally my childhood especially Chanticleer & Glen Cambell how he was able to pull off being like the King of Rock N' Roll, Elvis. I remember even trying to dress up like Chanticleer by having my shirt out, dangle and etc. Such good times. There's just so much to say, describe and feel. Even the front cover of the cassette brings back so many memories when I look at it from time to time.

A nice detail that I never noticed 'til now (and I use to watch this movie a fair amount) is that, in the illustration of the Grand Duke, his monocle is normal at first, until Edmund puts his finger on it. After he takes it away, it's cracked (and, of course, there's a sound effect; THAT, I did always notice). Later, when the Duke himself shows up, he scolds Edmund for this ("You put your finger in the Duke's face"), and throws his cracked monocle at him, but I always thought that was something that happened only in the storybook world. But, no; it's in the real world, too - a nice, early indication that the lines between reality and fantasy are about to be blurred.

0:55 Adult Edmond: (narrating) All of Chanticleer’s friends were not the only ones who had noticed Chanticleer’s weakened state. The sun, who was preparing to unleash a new day over the world, had also noticed, and both Chanticleer and the sun felt very disappointed. Chanticleer that he had lost his chance to sing, and the sun that it did not get to hear Chanticleer’s harmonizing. But the animals saw it differently, and just didn’t know at first.

0:02 Adult Edmond: (narrating) Chanticleer was only singing, but the animals believed he was responsible for the rising of the sun. Chanticleer only awakened to greet the dawning of every day, and sung his praises for each one of them. But if there was one animal who did not seem to share the praise of Chanticleer’s melody, it was the most feared creature of the country, a giant owl known as The Grand Duke.

I can’t believe it, the Director of An American Tail & The Land Before Time made a film with a combination of Animation & Live Action. Oh by the way, I heard The Land Before Time was originally planned to run 15 maybe 16 minutes longer. But the missing 15 or 16 minute footage was edited out for some reason. Not to mention some parts of the Soundtrack I don’t remember hearing from the Film either too. I would rather see what the entire feature of Don Bluth’s Dinosaur Film might have looked like.

Nya, some scenes that don't appear in the film nevertheless appear in books that were sold during the days of the premiere. In addition to longer scenes with the sarptooth there was a sequence with adult dinosaurs refusing to share a pond with the main characters when they are thirsty, only because they are not of the same species.

OK, don't expect me to believe that such goody-goody characters from the movie like Patou, Peepers, Stuey or Minnie Rabbit could do such a thing like laughing at a very big friend of theirs. I think this movie fell into what I call "Ad Populum Flanderization", that is, having every member of a group of well-differenced characters make the exact same mistake no matter if it's akin or not to each's personality just for plot convenience.

This wasn’t a terrible movie, but it’s certainly one of Don Blush’s worst animated movies. I never found the story that engaging, it felt kinda stale in my opinion. Quite a few scenes that felt pointless. Not a lot of redeemable characters either, some felt like they could be taken out the movie completely and nothing would change. And I know he’s a child actor, but Edmund it just so bad and annoying. They did have good music though, and voice talent. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
