If i was living in that day and time that they were created I would want my family history and location of our dwellings so that I could teach my kids and relatives, I think that would be important to me at that time. So interesting! Thank you!

A smashing and informative guide! Thank you. The animal & bird motifs at Stronach Wood and Eggerness are certainly figurative and seem to be from the same period as the geometric designs on the panels which they co-exist. There is an amazing spider at Barharrow with a cup mark which is an integral part of its design. Figurative Rock Art is very rare in Scotland but it does exist.

Hi, some ofvtge extensive rock art looks to me like a map and the various designs indicating a type of dwelling, stone circle, tomb or standing stone. has anyone ever superimposed a map of the local area onto of rock art in the location where it is found?

As far as album cover rock art, the Stones Exile and Sticky Fingers are totally iconic and memorable whilst Floyd's Dark Side and Wish You Were Here make it too close to call! 🤘😘

India is covered in stone art of the exact same circles as you see in Europe.

Hi there. Thank you for posting this interesting video. I lived near Kilmartin Glen for 15 years, and am very interested in cup and ring rock art. I am coming to the end of my BA (HONS) Arts and Humanities, in which I specialise in Art History. I would like to go on to study for an MA in rock art studies. The few that have answered my emails only do modules as part of an archaeological program. I can`t believe, with our advances in aesthetics and hermeneutics that I cannot study this somewhere as part of an art stream. Do you know of anywhere that offers an MA or even a module of rock art study as an art history subject at MA level? Thank you for any help and direction
