We have a dry riverbed along our front driveway. My husband decided he needed to "clean" the rocks also.He took them out by the shovel full and placed them on the drive way and hosed them down for some time.I could see our water meter spinning! He then replaced the ground paper and put them back.I have no idea what our water bill is going to be this coming month!! Crazy men.

Was the end result worth it though? I'm thinking of just going into my rocks with a pressure washer and a good liquid soap

I love it! I don't have a wheelbarrow, I don't have any help and this is one of those jobs you can't pay someone else to do - the landscapers and hard-scapers want to tear everything down and charge 10K to 20K for the job. I did use a old milkcrate, cut chicken wire to fit the sides and fastened with zip ties which was my strainer/tumbler. I have a lot more separating of my lava rocks from the debris. I know your rocks are bigger and heavier than mine, so you got some good muscles!

You have dawn soap? 2-3 Oz You have bleach? Go to Home Depot and buy the 10% instead of chlorox 2%. You have water? 1 gallon Put in a pesticide sprayer... Spray let sit 10-15 mins. Do not let it dry. Sprinse over it a few times over. Wash away with water.. wash your plants if you're scared which they'll be fine. You're welcome. Don't do what 1800s white man is doing on here

And this is why I will NEVER use rock as a ground cover. Rocks are a pain in the butt. No matter what you do dirt will get in between

I'm writing this to try n get a machine made that picks up and cleans landscaping rocks that have filled in with sand and dirt. Currently there are no machines that so that job. Cleaning the rocks from landscaping in front of most businesses. No one has a machine like that. Why, I don't know why. It's a problem for all landscaping companies. Removing and replacing the rocks that have filled in with dirt. Now and have been allowing the growing grass and weeds that grow out of the dirt. So much it fills in between every rock so much that now they look like dirt. No more does it look like rocks for landscaping. Look like dirt only. Filled in completely to look like ground to help weeds to grow. I hope I've explained my self well enough so inventers know what I'm talking about. To me it's easy to see the problem that NO-ONE has a machine like that. Please make one for the landscaping industry.
