The Great Arch - 5.5 - 3 Pitch - 400 Feet - Stone Mountain, NC
A "classic" climb in North Carolina. The climbing was fairly easy if you have friction slab experience. My only complaint would be the constant bent over motion.. definitely works the lower back! We did this climb on "Black Friday" the day after Thanksgiving! Was pretty chilly with a high of 34 degrees with mild wind.

I believe it is a belay at that time! I think the top strand is the climber, he asked to be a little loose - and I'm assuming she was about to take up the slack right at the picture. But don't completely remember.. super fun climb, enjoy!

@@mattdobson123 @mattdobson123 can I recommend you choose a different belay device for belaying from the top? From the picture it does not look that that particular tube style device is best suited for a "top belay"

@@hankdoan1238Correct. That belay device is essentially acting as a pulley in this scenario. If the follower fell, it would be belayer grip strength vs weight of follower. Also leader clipping pas to one bolt is not safe
