This is a very clear and easy to understand video 👍

I like your single biner, DdRT style. Great little review! You may not know, but you can push the end of an unspliced rope into the becket on you Cali swivel, and just terminate with a stopper knot. I do see the slop and sit back you're talking about, with the biner below it.

Thanks! Oh true. I have heard of putting the rope directly onto the Cali swivel but haven't personally tried it myself. Yeah, that extra carabiner does add some slop which can be annoying. Thats why so far I'm a fan of using the single Rhino biner to attach to the swivel.

Seems like if you wanted to stay by the books with RE on their DdRT set up you could use your micro biner from your chesty and a prusik in conjunction with the tending point on the akimbo and that would help mitigate the play in your tending.

Very true! I'll have to try that out.

marking it with a sharpie is such a good idea.
@AndrewMansvelt4 жыл бұрын
It was hard to find a marker or something similar that wouldn't easily rub off. So what I ended up doing was engraving a small line to indicate the position of the bollard. That's worked great.

@@AndrewMansvelt any kind of marking helps because its kind of hard to see where the pins are.

True, any marking makes it that much easier to see where your settings are.

dude do you live next to a YMCA or some shit? Nice video by the way, excellent overview of the device. The akimbo is so well designed, definitely the new gold standard for SRT devices in my opinion. The only thing better than an Akimbo is two Akimbos, or a jet pack.

What rope are you using with the akimbo? I’ve heard that its finicky about the type of rope it’s on, tends to have problems descending on a harder rope. So just curious what rope and size your using

I'm using 11.8mm drenaLINE. It seems to work great on it so far. The biggest thing I've noticed is that the akimbo HATES pitch. So be aware of that if you do a lot of pine or fir trees.
