@@WayneFletcher When I watch other top reggae drummers play like Carlton Barrett, Carlton Santa Davis, Sly Dunbar, and Style Scott, they don't use much rudiments except for the single or double strokes on the snare drum and the tom toms. Sometimes I see them use cowbells on their drumsets too.

ktpinnacle; i think that's because the emphasis should be on how you play rather than what you play. i remember years ago an old legend on guitar telling me to just go between two chords repeatedly when he was teaching me a bit of rythm guitar. he would make me beleive in myself. and we sounded great . he's gone now and i do miss him badly. yeah!
