I could listen to Rick Dufay and Jack Douglas hanging out and talking all day long. They just have such good chemistry together.

Rick Dufay to me, is an amazing guitarist and clearly a sound fella. Love RIAHP, my 2nd fav album of all music i've listened too. unique, dirty sound with blazing axes. the bootlegs of Rick playing some of the tunes early on are quality and a damn shame we've not got higher quality recordings of such times. unreal man. loved this.

One of the best and coolest interviews I've seen in a long time... Hard to play in a band and just cover someone else's music.

Thank you for putting a light on Rick. I'm a big fan of Tender Loving Abuse and it was great to hear his stories and commentary. I'd love to see Rick and Jack find the TLA masters and put it out on CD with liner notes. The record has a great history.

So great to see Rick. I met him through a mutual friend who dragged me to Huntington Beach to see a band called Blue by Nature. Man I am so glad he did. Rick and the band obviously were spectacular and Rick's playing is the most satisfying, most exciting, most inspiring blues guitar I had ever heard or will ever hear. I hung out with him a few occasions and found Ricks brutal honesty and humble nature like the blues that he plays so well. And then I lost touch with him as I live in New York. But this morning I was tired of listening to the same stuff I always listen to and found my box of cd's, cued BBN up as again Rick lit me up. So I've been looking for him and found this great site and there he is. Rick if you ever look at this and read the comments It's Vincent and I hope you are well and happy and still putting it down. Much love my friend.

I f*cking love the Rock in a Hard Place lineup of Aerosmith, and though at the end they just weren't going anywhere anymore because of Steven and their record company twisting their arm, I think the band was better then Rick gives 'em credit for. Listen to bootlegs of their on nights and you can hear they could bring down the house hard.

@chrischoir3594 Me as well Chris. My first thought was 'if Steven Tyler tapped out 4 songs earlier, there would have been a riot.' Fortunately they were about 2/3rds of the way through the concert. WAAF in Worcester pre-show was mentioning there is a rumor that Joe Perry is at the show that night and there were reunion rumors circulating......the rest is history.

Personally I have scene Aerosmith about 30 times, starting in 1982 - with about 4 of them during the dufay/crespo era and I actually think those early shows stand up or in some cases exceed the classic lineup.

ROCK IN A HARD PLACE is a fantastic Aerosmith album. I love it for the 80s metal guitar sound, high energy tracks, and macho lyrics. There are plenty of those who think Aerosmith is best when they imitate the Rolling Stones, and have more acoustic guitars and soulful singing, but not me. ROCK IN A HARD PLACE and PERMANENT VACATION, with those high voltage metal guitars, great climatic beats and rhythm.. Rick Dufay, that's great album with Aerosmith, and great production Jack Douglas. too bad yall didn't have your act together at the time, but the music was great!
