ROCK ISLAND RAILROAD PART 1

#trains #diesellocomotive #history Paul Sartori joined our trainclub during mid 1997, in 1998 osmr had to find a new home and we ended up using a machine shop in apopka for most of the year, the shop had a small office that had a hvac and on tuesdays some of our club members would show up in the afternoons and Paul would put on a show with his train movies for entertainment. Pauls shows covered Alote of the united states as he moved very frequently Paul also recently converted all his movies to DVD so they can be played at the train club and so they can be shared to everyone watching the youtube channel. Love this video, both parts 1 & 2. As an old Rock Island fan living in Wichita, Kansas I have a lot of pictures of the old Rock Island's many and varied units and paint schemes. The only switcher I got was the 831, which I think, according to your video, is an SW-8. Also have a shot of the 406, an FP-7, in the lead coming through South Junction in Wichita. Thanks for this video and all the work put into it.

Same engine sound from every unit type in the video, NOT real sharp to do that.

Those engine sounds were actually special effects just to put on top since unfortunately there weren’t any audio video cameras at this time when it was filmed unless u wanted to spend alote of money for one.
