The guitar being played by Sugizo is an ESP Eclipse S-VIII rather than a Zemaitis, one of about sixteen different signature models the company has made for him over the last 30+ years. He was originally a violinist from the age of three, switched to trumpet around 11-12 and then picked up bass & electric guitar as a teenager. He also plays violin in both Luna Sea, X-Japan and some of his other projects/solo work and it seems to inform his melodic approach to soloing; he's never been afraid of long sustained notes and soaring lines with specific delay sounds have kind of become one of his trademarks.
I'm currently watching this song performed in 1994 and then seeing this when they are clearly much older, probably 2010s and they are still giving a great performance of the song.

Luna Sea was the first Japanese rock band i ever heard. I dont remember what possessed me to search "Japanese Rock" that day, but Luna Sea was the first option.

After watching the video of Nemophila covering this song one day I thought I'd check out the original and saw this video. This was a awesome performance.

What a great reaction. :) Luna Sea is great band, especially their old songs from times before they disbanded, this one is definitely one of my favourites! If you like ballads, I really recommend their song "Until the Day I Die", there is amazing live performance on KZbin from channel mega mauler (as one word, but I don't want this comment to be deleted by KZbin, so...), you liked melodic guitar solo in "Rosier", but in that performance of "Until the Day I Die" is such amazing intro, Sugizo, guitarist who played that solo, there is playing amazing on acoustic guitar and violin, so beautiful. You can turn on english subs there too if you want. I hope you will react to it. :)

Luna Sea started out as a visual kei band and over the years toned down the visuals a bit. Their music has always been consistently great!

I guess you figured out the guitarist is one of Japan's greatest. They were selected as one of Japan's most important 100 bands. The drummer married a member of Morning Mesume, a hugely popular girl group in Japan. Who you likely never heard of.

Can you next react to "Precious" and "Believe" from Luna Sea, both live versions played at Lunatic Fest 2015? Search on YT "Lunatic Fest Day 1 & 2". I would love to see your reaction!
