The GBA sound is weird. It sounds muffled, but it might just sound better on original hardware with low volume set.

It sounds great. The thing it's the GBA speaker has a bus limitation that Nintendo put in to optimize battery usage. There's some emulators that gets rid of that limitations and, weirdly enough, all the samples are even cleaner than SNES ones. In fact, the GBA raw sound it's amazing. Indeed at 32 bit level. But saving battery in a handheld it's more important than better graphics/sound. Tell something to Game Gear and its 2 hours of autonomy LMAO!

For a game titled "Rock n Roll Racing" where music is very important, the Genesis-version sounds almost intolerable for my ears. Too sharp, too scratchy, too artificial. SNES music is sounding muddy as usual, but waaaay more enoyable, so SNES clearly wins this one for me. Dont know the GBA-verson personally, but judging from this video, it seems somewhere in between sound-wise.

Well, the Genesis Version it's the original version. And music was made by the same guys who programed the game itself. The SNES one it's a port made by Ocean (an English company) who counted with the help of the Follin Brothers, which were absolute POWERHOUSES in composing chip tunes in limited systems (look out for "Solstice NES title theme). So, it's normal that some artists who used GEMS in the most simple way (the best they had then, since they were musicians but not music programmers/sequencers) will get completely outclassed by people who's been making chip tunes for over a decade. Then the GBA version counted with Follin Brothers again so, they ported the whole work from a console to another in a very flawless way.

@@TheSuperPlayer707 The SNES-version really does not sound outsanding or anything for SNES-standards IMO... it probably gets most of it's attention because the songs are famous rock classics that everybody knows. But it sounds much better here than the genesis-version (where I'd rather turn the sound off completely and listen to the original songs instead). Other than that, I enjoyed the upgrade-system in the game and played it for some time on the SNES. It is not stellar, but entertaining for some time.

I don't know, I like the sort of... "Broken style", for lack of a better word, that you get in the Sega Genesis.@@Fuartianer

@@Fuartianer Genesis have full screen and you see more of a track. SNES is zoomed in, and you can see shit in front of you. And dunno about sound, coz SNES version sounds muzzled, like it's in a tube or something.

Genesis wins here. The SNes version have a lot of bugs. Car position is not accurate when hit by a missile. The lower fps in the nintendo version is noticeable. Genesis version have a better camera vision and runs smooth. There's a extra music track but quality of the music is bad.

Yeah SNES version is the best one visually and has the best sound as well. But I've always been envying the kids having a Genesis and being able to play Probotector (Contra). Compare these versions, that's another story.
