I have not begun trying to paint rocks yet. I've just bought some rocks, and was checking out this video. I've seen books online where the colors were blended, but I had no idea how it was done. A friend shared a post to Facebook that mentioned using Posca pens in a rhyme, and I wanted to see how they actually worked. This video was superb, and I now have plenty of idea on what I would like to try. Am going to browse the Posca pens on Amazon.com and try them out just as soon as I can. Thanks so much for sharing this video!

Great video. If i pressed my pen on the stone like you did i guarantee a big blob of paint would come out 😆its happened quite a lot with my pens. I now give them a good shake and that usually does the trick.

Claire, I love your painted rocks, the turtles are beautiful. I just bought a pack of 8 coloured Posca markers to use for rock painting and I had no idea that the colours could be blended. Thank you so much for a great and creative tutorial, love from Amanda Jones in Australia :-) P.S. Can I paint my rocks with white or black gesso before painting over them, either with the Posca markers or with acrylic paints?
@ClairesCraftyCorner5 жыл бұрын
Hey Amanda thank you so much .. glad you found a video to help ... xx yes You can pretty much use anything to base coat .. as long as it's not water based ... I think Gesso is like acrylic isnt it ? I'm going to be using it in my next video but havnt tried it yet .. It should work perfectly fine for sure xxx

Really great video! I really want to get into this and try rock painting out! I was just wondering, with the final rocks you show at the start, have you varnished those or put something on the top? They shine so well!
@ClairesCraftyCorner5 жыл бұрын
hey ... great to hear from you xxx Yes I varnish them with different things .. mainly outdoor varnish x You can use clear nail varnish, clear yacht varnish which I get from Poundland or a spray varnish xxx they were all put down on the south coast and quite a few turned up in the Facebook page xxx

Claire, I used the largest Posca pen to color my rock blue, but when I went in with red and yellow colors to blend, my yellow blended with the blue background of the rock. How long do you let the main rock color sit to dry before making the turtles? Or are you using some other way to color the background? Much thanks! Emily
@ClairesCraftyCorner4 жыл бұрын
Heyyy lovely .. so I use paint for the base of my rocks x I think once Posca is dry ... Posca will scrape off the Posca underneath or blend ... so I think paint base would be ideal xxx
