*So adorable, especially adding those bubbles!!* I've been following a lady on KZbin, she only uses beautiful napkins & tissue wrapping paper with mod podge. Sigh. I can't think of her name. She creates some lovely items. Instead of printing an image onto the napkin & paper, she purchases all the gorgeous packs of napkins, (the type we use at birthday & house warming parties) tears the part out that she wants to be seen on item, gently *separates the two layers of napkin away from each.* She'll then proceed to do what you did, ONLY using the one layer with print on it. I asked her once, "Why not just fussy cut the image out?" She said it'll give it the item a totally different look if that was done. I'll try to locate her name, OR a good example of her videos, & add it above. I'd have NEVER thought of any of these things. I was happy to see you & your tutorial on my notification list last night. Thank you, Jen. :-) Have a lovely day. ♡

Thank you. Should I put modge podge down first and then again? What I'm trying to make with tissue paper is a memorial rock for my friend, Her son was killed by a drunk driver and he has a memorial plaque at the side of the road. I'm praying the picture of her son will adhere to tissue paper and stay on rock. I thought it would be a beautiful addition to her memorial.
@JenEvers6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've been told that if you put mod podge under and on top it's better. However, I feel that the tissue paper is thin enough that it will automatically soak through. Good luck with it, be wary of inks running. Make sure your media is super dry and permanent. I love the idea, you're so sweet! xoxo Jen

What products do I use? thx a million:)

Hi Magda :) Thanks for watching! I've heard of folks using Rustoleum spray, but if it were me, I'd stick to Mod Podge outdoor. I've not personally used a waterproofer for my rocks since I keep them indoors. Good luck! xoxo Jen
@woollie20024 жыл бұрын
Definitely use the rustoleum clear coat spray to protect it from the elements!
@maryspringer14422 жыл бұрын
resin! but dont use watercolors they fade outdoors. Resin makes it so pretty colors pop so does any glitter or eye shadow used..it seals everything in rock solid even little gems. and it looks like glass! You could also use that Krylon/ Rustoleum sealant too..I use that oftne its not as good as resin but does the job..seals everything in well and rocks still look the same years later outside. Modge podge also carrys a waterproof dishwasher safe sealant similar to the one she used in the video. You can use that too, though I do not know if certain mediums used like watercolors would fade over time..have to look it up.

Does it matter what kind of ink you use or printer?

modpodge seem cool but i am curious if one could uses the standard oil or water based polyuerthanes or sealer found at hardware stores like homedepot ... great design looks great
@JenEvers6 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not. Try it out. Just be careful that it's not harmful for the environment, people or animals. And some will make inket ink bleed and distort. Thanks for watching! xoxo Jen

If you go over alcohol markers with Mod Podge, doesn’t it smear the marker dots??

Jen, I'm having problems getting a smooth even base coat of paint on my rocks. I'm painting over white chalk. Any suggestions? thanks ~

Not sure. You could try pouring and see if that works. xoxo Jen

I wish I could post a photo to you! Get some of those big metal binder clips (black with the silver metal arms) and after you clip it to your wet rock you can set it down and the silver arms of the binder clip (hold the rocks) and turn it into a great lone STAND for your wet rock!!

Sounds spectacular! I'll have to keep that in mind for next time I do rocks :) xoxo Jen

Hey Jennifer, I love how u go with the flow of it. Do u know how well would these hold up in a memory garden? Thank
@debbietramundanas65187 жыл бұрын
Kat Wubbenhorst They will hold up just fine outside, but you need to spray them with a clear acrylic spray like Krylon, after you finish. The Mod Podge doesn't hold up against the elements. If you don't like using spray paint, there is a product called "Triple Thick" that is brush on. It is made by DecoArt Americana and is usually on the bottom shelf under the acrylic craft paints at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.(Whatever you use, you will need to coat all sides of the rock)

You can set the rocks on a plastic cup from Walmart and less paint mess :) how do you get the design on the tissue paper? I probably missed that part apologies 😂
@JenEvers5 жыл бұрын
Oh great idea, the cup! I printed this on tissue paper that was taped to a piece of either printer paper or cardstock. Either way, it was super easy! :) xoxo Jen

How light fast is this project? Are you putting this outside in the weather?
@JenEvers6 жыл бұрын
HI Ellen! I'm not sure how lightfast it is since I wasn't planning on putting mine outside. I sent it to a friend who was going to keep it in her craft room. xoxo Jen

How cute and adorable. Would a spray sealant have helped to keep the ink from running?
@JenEvers7 жыл бұрын
Yep, if used outside, there are comments on this video that people have shared what to use in that case. I don't use mine outside so Mod Podge will hold, but sprays and sealants have been suggested! xoxo Jen

Absolutely, I don't see any reason why not! xoxo Jen

I've always put a layer of modpodge under the image first. It help avoid air pockets. This is adorable, though.
