What a joy to see, a far cry from when I picked rock on a Minnesota farm with a stone boat and tractor. I believe I picked up several tons of those things. Great invention!

I grew up on a small southern Minnesota farm (Owatonna) in the 1950's. I remember using a stone boat and collecting rocks too. This would have been a blessing.

@@ralphgrunz1498 I grew up in Glenwood in the 40s and 50s. I worked for several farming families, the real work was in picking hay on a 95 degree day.

Very interesting, but it would have been nice if you had mounted a camera on the draw bar and showed how the chain picked up the rocks thanks for sharing.

I have a farm in upstate NY. In the early sixties a gas pipeline came through our area, as I understand it, it went from TX to MA. When they were putting it in, the workers told one of my neighbors that our area was the rockiest section across the entire distance! I'd love to have one of these.

I find this as proof there is a god. Potato pickers and rock pickers are able to work well on the same fields.

Nice rock picker upper,sure like to use that in my land and get the rocks out.

Great for prepping seed beds. But you must seed as soon as possible. Because rocks help foil erosion and retain moisture.

Is there a known machine tooth depth which is agreed to be sufficient in advance of using a ridger for planting, for example, potatoes?

It looks like this machine is picking up windrowed rocks. Was a different machine used to windrow rocks or is this a last pass and the whole field was a rocky as the windrow ahead of the tractor?
@rickymurphy91735 жыл бұрын
It looks like it's picking up a lot of rocks but it also looks like there's still a lot of rock sitting behind it in the ridge or it's going to come through but for the most part it's doing pretty good I don't think I paid for that though

The rocks are windrowed. He is going underneath and that is the clean dirt falling thru

I am not a farmer, but according to me common sense it only need such machine to run over the land once. So it is much cost effective to hire it, or to hire a contractor who has this machine to do the work,
@MrRLN20104 жыл бұрын
@@peterkung6793 I'm not a farmer either but I do know that rocks come up from below constantly, therefor grooming with this machine is necessary more than once. Hiring it still could be an economical way to go. This is hard to Judge every farm is different or at least run differently.
