I'm going to discuss the issue with the state DMV and ask if a custom-built off-road vehicle can be street legal and what the requirements would be to make it qualify. I don't see rat-rods or sand rail type vehicles on the streets in Michigan so I am thinking the State must have some real issues with such creations.

there is also no mechanical linkage from the tire to the steering wheel. Only fluid as it is a Fully hydraulic system. so the liklihood of the steering wheel doing anything crazy is less.
