@@davidzasloff8797 I always thought most of LA Woman was Morrison doing his best Howlin Wolf impression as most of the tracks are blues oriented. Only Riders On The Storm and Hyacinth House really approach the crooner factor.

Great as usual, very glad you included Bryan Ferry. But you missed number one in my opinion, as noble savage has already mentioned, SCOTT WALKER. Bowie got everything from him, but he's not as good. Scott outclasses them all. Regards

Just learned the Bowie was really into the Walker Bros. and Scott Walker in particular which seems that Bowie might have been influenced to hit those low notes by them. Ref. Scott Walker "30 Century Man" documentary on Prime.

I would like to recommend Richard Hawley, one of the finest voices I've ever heard. He describes his voice as the result of 'lager and cigarettes '. Absolutely superb singer. Recommended album. Trueloves Gutter. New album 'In this city they call you love '.
