I disagree. He was great in Nirvana and I love Nirvana they’re one of my favorite bands but what Dave started with foo fighters and the recovery he made to better himself and use music as a source of healing. That’s the best thing to happen to him.

@@Remooverevans 100%, he fit Nirvana like a damn glove, and rocked out with the very best of them, but Foo is where he really THRIVED and took flight. None of that would have happened probably without his experiences in Nirvana, both the highs and lows, but it helped make Dave the dude he is today, and we love him for that shit.

The Nirvana induction is a gamechanger and brings back so many memories. Great to see a family on stage for the event. My great fortune to see Nirvana (before Dave) as a quartet in Al's Bar downtown LA for the Bleach tour, and several times after, with Dave!

@@ermertieplug There's no time limit on the speeches. Other people have given way longer speeches (if I'm not mistaken, when Pearl Jam were inducted Eddie Vedder spoke for 12 minutes straight- and that band has more members than Nirvana so it took even longer). Dave talking for a bit longer took nothing away from anyone else.

There would be no Nirvana without Kurt. He was Nirvana. You could get anyone to play drums or play base but nothing can replace Kurts voice, emotions and song writing. These people are just associated with the band.
@tsg_frank5829
@tsg_frank5829 2 ай бұрын
You have to be completely daft to not recognize the contributions Dave and Kris have given to the band, Kurt alone would not have ended up with the biggest band in the world, all three of them had the exact dynamic that allowed all of those songs to hit as hard as the did.
@ermertieplug
@ermertieplug 2 ай бұрын
@@tsg_frank5829 Kurt Cobain was one of a kind. He had so many copycats after they hit the radio. His voice and lyrics were unique. I can't say the same about the other ones.
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Ай бұрын
The other ones didn't have as many copycats because they weren't the singers and therefore didn't get as much attention, that's all. Are we seriously measuring talent by how much attention people get now? For almost every band in existence the singer gets more attention than the players. That does not mean they're the only important member. Also, you must be completely out of touch with reality if you haven't noticed how many people try and copy Grohl's drumming nowadays, so saying only Kurt was being admired is ridiculous.
@ermertieplug
@ermertieplug Ай бұрын
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Dave Grohl is the lead singer of The Foo Fighters but nobody is trying to copy him because he sounds like everyone else. The lead singer does make the band. I'm not saying that the others weren't good musicians, it's just that the lead singer gives the bands overall sound. Queen, Inxs, Foreigner, Blind Melon, etc. With some exceptions, bands aren't the same without the lead singer. You can't deny that.
@kekoa028
@kekoa028 Ай бұрын
@@ermertieplug”bands aren’t the same without the lead singer” you can say that for literally every other instrument though. Look how much better nirvana got when dave joined, the beatles would’t be the beatles without ringo, the who would’t be the who without keith moon or john entwhistle, people only really care about rhcp’s music when john fruciante is in the band , etc , etc
