He's the only person I've seen sing with them that was being themselves and not just being a karaoke Jim. He was genuinely being part of the band and mixing things up...sounded like a slight miscommunication towards the end where he had the audience participation and Ray expected another repeated line...I think Eddie was their favourite singer. Certainly John said he was the only one he'd rejoin Ray and Robbie with. Precisely because, I think, he was being himself and genuinely being a musician. Not someone who just sang the song exactly as Jim did and was predictable. The band was always about Jim's unpredictable lyrical meanderings and if Eddie had been up for it, with practice and getting to know each other better as musicians it could have worked out brilliantly.

Agreed. I'm a big Who fan and I fricken LOVE Eddie's covers of so many of their songs. He isn't Daltry, and Daltry isn't Eddie. Both have their own styles and sound, and both KICK ASS on the Who songs! And I love the drummer whose name I can't recall who used to be with Soundgarden.
