This is a great Rick interview. No this is THE best Rick interview I've heard in years. To have an interviewer who knows the the music, the lyrics and then to add acoustic Little Demon at the end. Perfect.

Agree. Best interview I’ve ever heard of RS. Interviewer was incredibly knowledgeable and as a lifetime fan I can’t tell you how much this means to many of us who feel Springfield deserves to be seen and know as the epic song writer and rock legend he is. (And btw let’s get him to be inducted into the RRHOF already!) Thank you Rock Cellar. About to share this interview on a RS fan page.

Great interview, Ken!! I've always been a huge Rick Springfield fan, and I agree 100% with you...criminally underrated as a songwriter & guitarist.

Matthew Nadeau me and my musical partner tell people that all the time. They think about Jessie's girl and we tell them that they don't have a clue. Listen to Rock of Life album. The writing is amazing

Rock of Life is one of the most incredible albums I’ve ever listened too. I have no problem listening to it all the way through which is very rare for a record.

Excellent interview! Rick has been a huge part of my life for 40 years. His lyrics have saved me a time or two. Many people wouldn't understand that, and it's okay. I don't expect them to get it. Life is murky, it's good and bad, it's not usually what we expect. I also have battled depression since childhood. Thank you, Rick, for being honest about what you've been through. Sharing your story has helped me.

Rick looks great for his age. I always wanted to catch 1 of his concerts. I dont know many of his songs Blues? Now that's a form of music I appreciate. Not particular old Blues Players like BBKing or Ray Charles I miss Gregg Allman who was an amazing Blues singer I didn follow anything about the A Bros. No no..The Gregg Allman Band which no longer exists cuz of his death. His voice was so unique & professional. I can listen to him very often. Glad I got to meet him. He had a southern accent that u don't even hear when he songs I wish he was still alive. ❤

He’s almost too honest, but it’s truly part of his charm. Nobody likes to be vulnerable but I admire his bravery during interviews. Also the interviewer, wow! He’s touching all over the place in a non linear fashion which is incredible. He’s asking about Karma 😁 which is fantastic, moving to STTS. Briefly you can even see the joy Rick has when the interviewer asks about Mr. Songwriter from Zoot. Fantastic job, wish there were more interviewers like this.

As a fan of Rick's since 1972, I' ve read and seen many interviews of him and I think that this interview is probably one of the two best one's that anyone has ever done. Bravo to you, Ken for the obvious knowledge you have of and the respect you had for your interviewee. I'm a huge Rick fan and a fan of musicians, songwriter's and writers in general. I come from a family of musicians and songwriters, but as I unfortunately couldn' t play an instrument to save my life, I ended up studying journalism in school with the idea of maybe one day interviewing and writing about those people I admired. If that plan had come to fruition, I would hope that I would exhibited my craft in a similar way. I appreciate your interesting and thoughtful questions to Rick and how much I learned from your conversation with him. Rick, I also thank you for your honesty and for so much else over the years.

I really enjoyed this in-depth interview with Rick Springfield. Great score! The interviewer did their research and knew Rick's background and music catalog well-beyond that of the casual fan. The thoughtfulness and complexity of the questions asked of Rick make this interview standout. I'd like to see you interview other musician with equally as impressive questions. How about Sting or Alice Cooper?

I love the interview. I've always loved his darker lyrics, lyrics that came from a place of pain and contemplation, so I am finding I really love the songs on The Snake King. I was diagnosed this year with Asperger's and I also live with Depression. I find songs like Rock of Life, The Voodoo House, and The Snake King speak to me. His music saved me when I was suicidal, and when I can't get out of my head. I was lucky enough to meet him on 6/8/19 and I wish I would have had the time to tell him how much his music reached me and saved me, but there wasn't enough time. Someday, I hope to tell him.

I love this interviewer: The Snake King is definitely a challenging album, and knowing what I do about Rick, I had a lot of questions about it. This interviewer asked exactly the questions I would ask if I had a chance to sit down with Rick. Much better than the daytime talkshow interviews he's doing. "Jessie's Girl...blah blah blah...this is a blues album, isn't it? Blah blah blah...Suicide Manifesto...you're depressed? You don't look suicidal...blah blah blah..."

Well , if people turn away , that's because their judgmental closed minded and you don't need them way. Music is about expressing feelings And can help us work through things In our minds and hearts. I personally believe that it's healthy to turn all stones over. And to remain open. ❤

Behind the rust or candy, he should make music about redeeming instead of music about redemption; it would be higher art.
