Goddesses of Power metal are back. this song is pure Epicenes. Fami fits perfect in the band. The bass line in the solo is just perfect. without the her part in the solo it would have gotten a way different undertone and feeling. They have all grown so much as well. Asami amazing vocals. Midori is buffed and awesome as ever. And Miyako not pregnant anymore and being as beautiful as ever. Haruna well what can you say about her. just awesome at drums as always and in this song she is even better then before. Great beautiful powerhouse. I am adicted to this song pretty much. Great introduction song to the new Lovebites and ofc Fami. Great Christmas Present.

They really push the bass in the mix around the time of the chorus, it is brought right up to the level of the leads, and it is worthy of it. Fami is incredible and I'm going to say a really killer upgrade to that spot in the band.

I have to agree with you here, Midori and Miyako brought the heat with this track. But Fami's bass lines are absolutely killer! Her bass runs during the guitar solos left me speechless! All of the ladies put in a full shift on this one. 🙂👌

Truth regarding the bass. Miho was in lockstep with Haruna and drove the engine with her. Fami levels up. Not only can she drive the beat, but she can move over to Miyako & Midori and play in lockstep with them. Haruna upped her game with ridiculous cymbal work. Asami's voice is the best I've ever heard her. This is my favorite song by Lovebites. Because Fami can shred, this solo run with all three chugging along is spectacular and is about pure speed. Listening to this song with headphones on is the best way to beat everything. Fami's work is mind blowing. This is leveled up.

I think Fami will be great for Lovebites. I loved Miho, and I hated it when she left the band. But to me, she rarely looked happy to be where she was. Make no mistake, she did the job. To me, she just didn't look really into it. I wish her nothing but the best, and I hope to hear a lot from her in the future. But Fami with Lovebites is the future now, and I already love it.

Asami and Mao composed the music, mild surprise. Asami lyrics, no surprise. Different yet not different. Intro is perfect with Fami leading to the main song. Midori is Ripped!! Haruna is blond and Fami has her Rock Star hair-do. I'm interested in Miyako's new music and how she is going to use Fami. Miyako does her own arrangements. Miho was an old school bassist, solid beat and rhythm with minimum flash. She seems to be doing fine, working with other musicians. Still kinda miss her.

Nailed it on Malmsteen here. I mean, the run at 9:07 and the lick at 9:14? If you think you've heard it before, you have. Both come straight out of the studio track for Black Star, off of Malmsteen's first album. In fact, same lick, same key. Funny how what was old is new again, but that's the main selling point of this band.

I’m extremely lucky because I’m going to see their first concert with Fami in Tokyo on March 11th . I cannot fucking wait. I’m no musician either, but since the release of this song I’ve learned that your favourite part is known as the Phrygian scale, and is often associated with Middle Eastern vibes, though apparently it’s originally Athenian. Do not feel the need to apologise for expressing your honest opinion. Again, I’m no musician, but you don’t need to be to understand that Fami’s playing on this track is utterly different to anything Miho ever did and yes…it fits the band in their current guise much better. Listen to Glory To The World onwards and the music they’ve produced is a notch above their earlier releases, and that’s a pretty high notch to begin with. Constantly saying that you miss Miho won’t bring her back and is disrespecting the band and in particular, Fami. You’re probably not familiar with music this old, but this is my favourite male vocalist and my favourite guitarist playing the most epic Phrygian themed rock track…until last Friday. Dio is a legend. "Gates of Babylon" is awesome. Definitely an inspiration for many musicians who came along after. I love Phrygian Dominant stuff. I eat it for breakfast. Rainbow was an influence for Michael Romeo, too. I think Romeo's favorite singer might be Dio, which is why he got Russ for Symphony X. Russel Allen can sound close to Dio. Symphony X is the missing-link between Rainbow and Lovebites. Romeo did his own version of "Gates of Babylon". A modern twist on it. The song is about the boat man on the river Styx. Please check it out. I think you will really like it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZi2kJysrMSSerc

Your pronunciation Fami is perfect. I agree with you Miho is a great bassist, I love her a lot, but Fami has different essence and she is just doing perfect work here. Miho was the founder and the band leader and she was a totally old school oriented metal nerd. Fami is pretty much different from Miho but Lovebites has stepped into new horizon with Fami now. Fami is making some chemical reaction in Lovebites IMO. And Mao is doing great work in composition of this great piece.

I have to agree with you. Miho was a very good bassist, but I think Fami is on a whole new level. Because she's so good, the bass has been brought up in the mix, and I suspect the bass will now play a major role in future tracks (similar to the way Misa's bass plays a major role in Band-Maid). Btw... the headless bass Fami is playing is her signature model from Bacchus. Not bad for a 20 year old to already have her own signature line! If this track is any indication of what the new album being released in Feb. is going to be like, that album will become an instant metal classic.

I could go on all day expressing to anyone that will listen how talented these ladies are. Not just as musicians/vocalist but as songwriters and lyricists too. They are, in my opinion, the gold standard of metal music nowadays. They are flawless. And now with the addition of Fami on the bass, this brings them to a whole new level. No disrespect to Miho as she is an absolutely fantastic bass player but Fami is in a different league. This band just gets better and better. I've been listening to them for over 2 years now and I cannot get enough of them. If this song is any indication of what the rest of the new album is going to be like, then we are in for a good, old-fashioned ass whooping.

I'm kind of with Hamish on this. Although it's technically a 'Power Metal' song, when you are playing a Constant 'double-time feel' @140bpm base beat, it becomes a 280bpm song, and that's definitely merging into some kind of Power/Thrash/Speed Metal hybrid. I like it, but it’s nowhere near my favorite Lovebites track. I hope they do give Fami a spotlight. I’ve been following her on YT for about a year and she’s incredible. That said, I’m still disappointed that Miho left. As a founder of the band and a total thrash head I think she was a huge influence on the overall sound of the band and I’m hoping they stay more thrash and less power metal. I don’t doubt they’ll continue being amazing, I’m just more of a thrash head myself and have never been big into power metal.
@PaulEMoz Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say they were more thrash in the first place. They've always been a mix of metal genres. They only have a small number of what I'd consider to be thrashy songs. I imagine the ratio will be similar in the future. Asami's said she likes the thrashier songs, so I don't see them abandoning that side at all. I can see them doing more technical thrash perhaps, but not more or less of it.
@raddofzennla Жыл бұрын
@@PaulEMoz I agree with you mostly. My point though was that I hope they don’t go more power metal than thrash. While a lot of their stuff isn’t straight up thrash metal, I think a lot of there stuff has more thrash elements than power metal. This song is pretty heavy on the power metal side of things. Again, I’m just saying “I hope”. I’ll reserve judgment until I hear more from this new lineup. I do like all of their stuff, including this song, I just prefer the thrash side more.
