the trumpet player at the end is Brasstracks. He's featured on the first song of their new album. Ego Death is the last song on the new album so they have him close it out.

if you notice Tim, Scott and Steve are all playing the same tune with there own interpretation of it. That's why I love this song so much. Scott and Steve's versions are so 🔥.

Lucky for you (and me) the Ibanez acoustic/electric was just announced as a Tim Henson signature, the TOD10N. I pre-ordered one on Sweetwater when they were announced. The Ibanez Guitar channel put out a video for it. And the Guitar Scott uses is an Ibanez Iron Label Xiphos (XPTB720).

Ego Death is actually the last track on their upcoming album. The trumpet player actually bookends the album as he's on both the first and the last tracks on the album. Also, when you know that this is the last track on the album AND that it's featuring Steve Vai then it makes sense that it sounds the most like "Polyphia" (which when I heard you say that I can only assume means that it sounds the most like something from their New Levels New Devils album as their sound has changed quite a bit over the years) as they've gone in a bunch of different directions with every single other video released for their upcoming album.

The first guitar is a custom nylon electric acoustic and i think its being released at the end of October possibly coinciding with the album drop on the 22nd as a new Tim Henson signature. I forget the new model designation, maybe like TON10D but i might have that totally wrong. Saw it earlier today in someone's video and can't recall exactly.

Tim said on his livestream Wednesday that the nylon drops in 6 days so that means we should see them tuesday

4:54 That's an Ibanez Iron Label XPTB720. Not custom made, but it released less than a year ago.

These guys are mega-talented, but Asterism is more my style as far as instrumental bands go.

The musician in you should understand that great bands sound like themselves. They don’t change over and over. They are who they are. How would your “discography” go?

Polyphia is very "percussive" in a lot of their stuff. I actually like this one quite a bit as far as their recent stuff. Neurotica was just not pleasant to me at all. And ABC was kind of meh. Playing God and this are both really good. But Asterism (Haruka) is much more melodic and smooth. She is definitely much more like Vai than Henson. They are all great.
