The final N64 controllers would’ve been much comfortable if the joysticks had a rubber grip. It also would’ve caused little to no injuries during Mario Party game sessions. Then again, the N64 is still a great controller.

I love the aesthetic! I'll watch your buddy's video next. If you're up for a challenge to make it even closer, I think the best part about the original N64 Ultra controller was that it was made for more adult-sized hands! In Hard4Games' original video, he talked about how the ends of the handles were longer. Beyond that, hollowing out the spot for the 64 Ultra logo and copying the original buttons may be worth your time! Even just doing bald/smooth buttons for A, B, and Start could look amazing, and the lack of labels would be just fine for anyone that has always played on one. PS-I too have dealt with the "gamer gunk" of opening GCCs before... It's a nightmare. A buddy of mine had his joystick stop reading inputs, and when I opened it up, it was because there was too much crud in the stickbox. Disgusting. Anyway, cheers! I look forward to the next one, as always!

Thanks for checking out Tony's video too! He make some great content especially if you're into prototypes games and hardware! I agree with you, I think if I attempt to touch this topic again, I will go all out and do my best to make an actual reproduction. That or if I meet up with Shane I am going to need to "borrow" his controller to make some molds, lol Man that gamer gunk is so nasty. Its one of those things were I go out of my way to keep my controllers overly clean because of all the nasty crap I have had to deal with over the years!! Cheers dude!!

What were those straws at the casting process for? Really curious!

Love these mod videos. I also have to thank you, because you inspired me to modify my Gamecubes. Simple LED mod, using Slow-Changing LEDs, that changes automatically, with no additional circuitry or programming on my part, of any kind. Simple, Install LED (using 100ohm resistor, for the LEDs that power from the Controller port's 5v power), and done. Short Video up on my other account: kzbin.info/www/bejne/baaQpnymapagmpY Best part, is I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to offset the LEDs, so that change at different times, instead of all at once. To my surprise, they start doing that themselves after a short while. I chalk it up to small variances during the manufacturing process, as the cause for these slight differences in color-changing-speeds. Will forever continue watching your videos, and hopefully find more ideas on how I want to mod my Gamecubes. One mod idea I need to save up money for, is to para-cord all the gamecube controller cables, because that looks like a lot of fun.

@@RockerGaming I wonder if the front of the controller could be replicated, imagine people putting your custom N64 jewel there. I know controllers made with resin are hit or miss, maybe Roarke could help with that. Pretty sure it would sell like hot cake haha!
@RockerGaming4 жыл бұрын
@@Sayajiin2 its funny you mention that! I was trying to figure out the best way to do that in the planning phase for this video and I was thinking a cnc machine or cnc router would be necessary to get the jewel area of the controller cut out right. Roarke and I chat often and I think he would be an ideal person if we were to attempt resin casts. Having said that it would have to be a pretty limited run type item as I could see something as large and as thin as a n64 controller having a high failure rate. Either way, this is a great idea!
