ROCKET 1985 Otis Series 1 Elevonic 401 High Rise Traction Elevators at Columbia Center, Seattle, WA

These are VERY NICE and ULTRA FAST, ROCKET Elevators!!!! We all know where this is!!! The Columbia Center, Seattle, Washington!!! These are the High Rise Elevators that go from 66-75, and this video also features the 56-65 Elevators towards the end. These are LOADS of FUN, THRILLING Entertainment, and are still COMPLETELY ORIGINAL from when the building opened on March, 2nd, 1985, with the ORIGINAL, VERY NICE & RARE Custom Older Series 1 fixtures, HIGH PITCHED Chimes like what the Atlanta Marriott Marquis used to have and my favorite GRANDMA Voice!!!! These, just like the Express Cars do make more noise than I remember and the chimes are starting to fade, but these are still in EXCELLENT Shape and I don't see why they should be modded!!! (Though I do fear it will happen due to huge renovations happening which includes adding an Express observatory elevator to 73, and a recent mod to one bank of parking elevators, and I do fear with the new direct observatory elevator these could be turnstiled off) I unfortunately couldn't take the shuttle elevator that goes from 75-76 as it goes to a Private Restaurant, but I've been here before and managed to get it last time, it goes 350-500 FPM for only 2 FLOORS!!! (See original video here to see the shuttle elevator: • 1985 Custom Otis Serie... ) The High Rise ones that go from 66-75 in this video go 1200-1600 FPM, and the 56-65 bank goes 1000-1200 FPM!!!! I just googled Columbia Center and found out that TODAY June 25, 2018 is the the end of the 2 elevator entry to the 73rd floor observation deck, it will be closed the next 2 days and then reopen on June 28 with an express elevator entrance. That better be for convenience and experience only, NOT TO HAVE ANOTHER TURNSTILE NIGHTMARE so the rest of the elevators stay open to elevator enthusiasts!

It is one thing if 1 place had turnstiles but with 4 or 5 it's a worry-some factor, if 1111 3rd avenue which has thyssenkrupp destination dispatch that BCElevatorRider filmed now has turnstiles that really sux. I hate that NYC is the FORTCAPITAL of the WORLD but it sadly has an excuse... their is no reason for Seattle to be like this as no body is threatening Seattle.

aceee06 I totally agree!!! Yeah, I walked by 4 buildings with turnstiles on the street, I saw 1111 3rd ave has turnstiles, The Amazon Towers have turnstiles and Westin Exchange has Turnstiles. Also, the Maynard Building now requires a badge to enter

Are you sure that the lobby elevators go 1400 fpm, because the skyscraper center says they go about 1200 fpm
