Hope you all enjoyed the run. Thanks again GDQ for letting me run this. Obviously I would love to take back the bad mistake on boss 4 but a deathless run is still deathless so I'll take that run any day for a marathon.

D4gr0n This was actually one of the most enjoyable runs I've watched from this SGDQ. Thanks for giving me a way to find a game I didn't know existed and showing off some spectacular techniques. I find the health management in particular a very interesting aspect of the run.

I'm glad you enjoyed the run. Yeah, the health management is very important to the run and it also works quite differently on normal since you take more damage from the same sources.

D4gr0n Interesting. I'll have to look at some of the runs to see how it changes the routing.

Is there anything to be said for using the sword swings to hide inside of the boss' body? If you're hitting him, he doesn't do damage to you. It does cause lag frames which is why I assume it's not used, but I figure that could be useful towards the end of the debris. I discovered that as a kid and I always use it as a way to avoid the debris. Just hammer that attack button and slowly move into him until you hit an invisible wall, then keep attacking until the debris is over. That said, I'm a year late, but this run showed me a bunch of things I didn't know on what is one of my favourite games ever. Even silly things like down and jump to fall through those platforms in world 5. I don't know why I never even tried it. I'd always assumed they were too solid to do that with.

Played this game since it released, been watching speedruns in it for quite some time and this was easily the most impressive one I've seen

As someone who's a big fan of this game, I can confirm that D4gron does some *extremely* risky stuff in this run... Very very impressive!

Nice run and very informative commentary. I'm no speedrunner but I love this game and picked up a few tricks that I'll definitely try to use when doing a playthrough in the future.

Man what was that sega game where one of the levels had a huge circular room with a big cylindrical machine in the center and you ran in a circle around it? Edit: it was gunstar heroes
