i think the easiest way to learn air roll flying is to focus on one analog input at a time, load up the pillars map, figure of 8s using only one analog input when needing to make an adjustment, mixing in different lengths of time you hold the trained adjustment for. once you get comfortable flying around using only one analog adjustment direction, learn to do it with a different adjustment

there was a time I had air roll left and one " joystick" air roll binded. I quickly changed my joystick air roll to air roll right because there was no point in having the joystick air roll. with joystick air roll it was harder to wave dash from walls, to air roll shoot, to make backboard clears. You don't need to have perfect control over both air roll, choose one air roll to master and with the other, just know basic movement to wave dash, make air roll shots and backboard saves and clears

I’ve finally learned directional air roll recently. It was painful for a while. Always had free air roll only, but the consistency arr give me is so awesome. Next step is reintroducing free air roll and using both situationally. Recoveries with only arr are rough lol

Newer players learning speed flip only use manual air roll. Way easier. When i switched i improved insrantly. Also easier to learn both ways faster. Consider app jacks speed flip and half flip tutes from las year. So simply put i got them down in minutes after several vids and tries. Hope rhis helps

C3 and I still haven't switched to a directional air roll. Aerials are with regular air roll and I speed flip with analog, not the directional air roll way. I do have both bound and use air roll left for set ups occasionally. Air roll right just for wall shots, or recovery

I only use it on recoveries bro. Besides that, I have both directionals binded. I main the left one but use the right when i need to get an angle for a shot on net on the right side of the field.

ive been trying to practise directional air roll for ages but I could never get the hang of it, so I completely just use free air roll and I feel fine. I am a kbm player tho lmao cuz I suck on controller. Ive tried looking at tutorials but they never work for me. Ive peaked at c3 in 3v3 and I feel decent in the air but obviously id be doing a lot better with directional.

I just finally hit c1. I was gold just a few months ago after years. I didn't take RL serious and actually "try" to get better until a few months ago. I use regular air roll, but only just a bit before touching the ball, so I can decide how hard to hit the ball, I use it for recovering, making sure I land on my wheels, also for wave dashes... I use directional air roll/right for my speedflip kickoff and half flips, that's it. I seriously just can't get the hang of flying while air rolling constantly. I have spent hours and hours doing so, and feel I'm no closer to learning it than when I started. I don't feel like I need it either though, I have aerial control of my car, can even do flip resets and many touch aerial dribbles, I don't see what learning to air roll constantly will help. I feel as if it just slows down my movements in the air, making it slower to move forward, back, left and right.

I highly doubt you can successfully execute consistent flip resets without air roll control. Especially if you’re only “C1”. Air roll is faster for directional changes than without, simply due to how long you can boost for.

In a way, it would be more for being able to make much finer adjustments and dribble inputs (among other mechs of course). It’s not likely necessary if you are able to freely control right now but can help lift some skill ceilings long term. If you’re already comfy with the other mechs, I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet. Having fun is more important than being frustrated by that mechanic (if you are frustrated Idk)

an extra question i had: when going for quick shots like power shots, would you just use joystick air roll? especially if the ball is on the same side to ur directional air roll?

If you are power shooting you should use joystick air roll. As a general rule, if you only want one touch on the ball use joystick, if you want multiple then use directional. Personally, I only use joystick airroll for shots and nothing else, and this is the advice pros normally give

Guys am i trippin or did he said that reverse tornado roll is kuxir twist? Wasn't kuxir twist just nornal air roll left/right + pitch down (up for reverse)?

Kuxir twist is jumping and turning the car to the left or right, then slightly pulling down + right or (or left aka (diagnol)) + joystick airroll (free air roll) it pulls you up im an og player i still kuxir sometimes.

I'm c2 and i don't understand the hype around directionnal air roll. I can use it, i trained it and i don't see the point of it. I am faaaar better with free air roll. It's faster to not flip around, taking the shortest trajectory and it's way easier. Some mech need it of course like the breezy flick and some other, but it's not a must have imo. =) I wait for further explanations guys

@@MrLazer44 Spinning isn't there to make you faster, as a matter of fact it is usually slower than going in a straight line. The point is that it gives you more angles on the ball. Without air roll it's hard to hit the ball at hard angles, making shooting less practical and touches less consistent. It's also much harder, sometimes close to impossible to perform high level mechanics without dedicated air roll.

I have a question about half flipping at the beginning of a kickoff. My son and myself got often that issue, that our car wont spin after flip cancel. So we have no probs doing a half flip, but if one of us start in a corner and want to half flip back to the boost, we double jump back and flip cancel, everything as normal, the car does the cancel but dont accept the air roll button and we are landing on top of our car or it spins to late and to low. Anyone knows, what the problem is? Thanks for your time

I was. It was because i wsn't lined up with the boost before i initited the half flip. Also, do you have the same issue with both sides? If so, you can use one air roll for each side if you aren't really lined up.
