Little known fact: They were going to end the song at 3:05 but Brian May happened to be in the studio that night and suggested the solo guitar part which ended up on tape.

James' guitar on this is incredible! Especially those bent notes in the second verse, honestly thought they could be strings

James plays it live, but that's Billy on both guitars on the album recording. He also did the Bass tracks on the album recordings too. Siamese Dream is basically Corgan and Chamberlain

@@ryanmitchell4266James wrote the lines and played them in the demos and rehearsals leading up the recording of the album. In a very real sense they’re his even though Billy insisted on playing them on the album.

Your playing is amazing, and I so appreciate this style of teaching. It's worlds better than people who try to speak through every part super slow. I've learned more in a couple days from watching your videos than I have in months from others. Great work!

Thankyou! That's so nice to hear... I love the thought that other guitarists are learning new (old!) songs. I know how much fun it is to learn something and then be able to play along and get lost in the music! Cheers!

agreed, the tab helps but more importantly the tab is correct. So much bad tab out there. This Sparky Dude is closer to what Corgan is actually playing.

While I agree I also think these videos really do a disservice to new musicians cause they aren’t working on their ear. Learning songs by ear is huge and cannot be emphasized enough. This is how this guy did it. Being able to recognize intervals will take your playing to the next level.

Its hard to be the 2nd guitarist when Billy Corgan is playing. He's very underrated for the textures that he brings to songs. That can be as important as technique...

You can pretty much eliminate that d string 5th fret and just play the open G twice at the beginning if this is too difficult for you. Sounds basically the same

It's definitely there in the album version of the song, but is very very hard to hear, it's either not allowed to ring or is drowned out by the the droning G pedal tones. Listen to the very beginning where only the guitar is playing by itself very closely you should be able to hear it there at least.

Can't hear anything you're doing. Looks like you're playing it well but will never know for sure when you're completely lost in the mix.
@SparkyGuitar Жыл бұрын
The guitar you can hear... that's me. It's pretty high in the mix - especially Billy's part. If I play the same notes as the band... with a very similar tone then it might seem like you can't hear me. But I've just listened back and pretty much all of the guitar you can hear is me.
@xXFraudXx Жыл бұрын
@@SparkyGuitar I should have specified I'm talking mostly about James part, and you are not in front of the mix at all. The backing track is so loud it's covering your playing up. Can't hear your tone, string noise, mistakes etc. This is basically the equivalent of playing air guitar along with the song. It should be easy to discern your playing from the song, and it isn't. I've been playing guitar plenty long enough and have an eye and ear good enough to know that this mix tells me nothing about your playing. Like I said, it looks good, but the sound is mud.
