This is the only Crichton I’ve read, but was swept up by the info dumps! As a suggestion, I’ve just yesterday finished “The Question Mark” by Muriel Jaeger: you could do worse..

This was fun! I enjoyed the book but boy do I agree about these characters. Honestly I kept mixing them up and it didn’t bother me , ha! Now I want to read more about viruses and pandemics and so now I’ve started Spillover. Not so much as a fun read but fascinating and scary. My next science fiction story will be Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World rather than Michael Chrighten’s which I will get to.

Of course, back in 2020 as soon as the advisories kept me isolated from away-from-home activities, the first book I pulled off my shelves was _The Andromeda Strain_ and I enjoyed reading it for the third time.

Of course you make a lot of good points, but geez, you’ve destroyed so many childhood memories of hot, sticky days on the back porch with the latest Crichton paperback and grandma’s cherry limeade. 😛 As far as Timeline, I much prefer the movie with that sexy Hollywood cast. For time travel, I don’t think anyone can write it better than Connie Willis. She’s the absolute master of her Oxford time travel series. Crichton, though, did write a fairly cogent introduction to a Jasper Johns retrospective book. It was engaging, at least, and one of the few times I’ve actually read the introduction to a full-colored illustrated art book. Thanks for the review, I guess. 😺✌️
