I agree with your comment about using the x-bow as defence. I use it as offence and defence. Sometimes I use it on the opposite side to a big confrontation that I have the advantage on. The guy needs to make a decision which tower to protect.

I don't get X-Bow haters. Yes, I get that the card is kind of dirty, but it is NOT overpowered, and it DOES take skill. Upon dropping an X-Bow, the opponent will immediately try to take it out before it locks on to their tower. The X-Bow's user must defend the X-Bow well enough so that the opponent's counter doesn't take out or do any major damage to the X-Bow. This is actually quite a difficult task, since there are many cards that can take out the X-Bow quickly, and since the X-Bow costs so much elixir, the user won't have too much elixir to defend it.

I don't get the damage. Lv 1 Lightning spell deals 650 Damage and 260 on tower. If 3 bolts its a target near proximity to other buildings, would that mean it deals 650/260 damage per bolt or damage all together?

You can't compare like that since you're battling different people. Though I do think the Lightning is better since you can deal more damage because you can target 3 high HP things. Though the rocket are good for taking troops out.

If I had to call out a card that needs no skill to use it's the royal giant. If you don't have a building then it's gonna get damamge no matter what. Just put it down and whabam damage done. Buildings may stop it but that doesn't change the fact that it's so strong and has way too much health

Rocket for XBow = 100% fair trade. XBow costs 6elixir, 66 DPS (lvl 1). And most of the time you are going to see if your enemy is about to drop and Xbow cause they will try to barricade it. So yea, easy to counter, no need to hate.

Saying the X-bow takes no skill is false. Almost everything can counter it and if you place it down at a bad time then that's six elixir wasted. When you are using the X-bow you have to time it correctly and if your opponent doesn't have a counter then it's well played. It's just like a balloon, if it's placed right it will do tons of damage to any tower.

I agree that the X-bow should not be your sole deck purpose, as demonstrated in the video. However, I do believe the X-Bow is fair game to use defensively or offensively, as a deck surprise card. After all, the description of the card suggests it being used offensively. I do not use X-bows, yes they are annoying, no they are not OP, but for sure the X-Bow deck is a sin.
