#rocketbook #notetaking I have been using the Rocketbook for over 1 year. I want to discuss some of the experiences and why I still use it over my iPad and reMarkable for certain things.

Do you use a Rocketbook? What is your favorite notetaking device?
@waynehorne27344 жыл бұрын
Thanks JB! Yes, like you, I have several Rocketbooks! I use the Mini as a sticky notes replacement and starting to use as a habit tracker. I have an Everlast executive size that I use for meeting notes and a letter size for any drawings that I do. I really enjoy using them. Even have my wife using one for her daily notes.

I have been on the Rocketbook platform for 2 years. The two issues I have are: - Erasing small errors (need to stop and wet wipe / dry. Or line out (messy) - Slickness of the writing surface isn't natural for me. Entries look sloppy. I personally prefer some resistance paper provides. I've been going back to the paper / pencil note taking more frequently. It just works better for me. But the RB concept is a good idea if one needs to regularly archive notes online.

There’s a multi subject notebook now, the pages have a better texture now. I don’t have it yet but I have the cloud card which I hear are the same. they do have a more paper like/cushioned feel. The multi subject had more pages and comes with dividers.

This is good review. What I am not able understand is what you can actually do with the notes once they are on your app except saving them on Google Drive or other drives. I do a lot of notetaking at my work so this would be a timesaver but can u turn them into text, edit them? What format do they come in? I would think yes, otherwise it will be just a picture of notes, right? I am also checking Rowrite, Remarkable looks awesome but is pricey.
@tmagik64714 жыл бұрын
Another informative video. Your Remarkable 2 update was awesome as I've recently order it... i'm in batch 7. So, as you suggested, I bought several Rocketbooks, and even their Sketch Bundle, along with various accessories. Well, after using for past day or so, I'm counting the months to when I'll receive the R2 and just decided to do it... yes, I bought the 1st gen Remarkable. It'll be delivered around the first week of July from Amazon. I'm a writing enthusiast... even use fountain pens and paper for my journals. But just wanted you to know your videos are inspiring as I value the art of brain-to-pen-to-paper combined with technology; perfect marriage. I'm even using Rocketbook to make templates that I convert to PDF's and import into my digital planner (XODO)... that way I can erase the template in Rocketbook, but use the templates digitally. Now, I can't wait to start using R1, then R2, but like you, I need that color!

Thanks for reviewing this just saw a video of this product on ticktok
@LaEmporoar3 жыл бұрын
You are not supposed to leave the frixion pen ink on the pages for more than 30 days or it can permanently stain the pages. Other than that the only downside is that the ink will dissappear in Temps of over 60°c. Although it will reappear if you throw the notebook in the freezer for a bit to cool off.

Other than saving some paper, what is the advantage of these notebooks over just taking notes on regular paper, taking a picture, and saving to dropbox or google docs?
@eurbina222 жыл бұрын
Only thing I can imagine is that it “forces” you to save into your “cloud service”. Normal pen and paper doesn’t really force you to do it.

First time coming across one of your videos, & I'm about to dig through your content but thought I'd leave you the feedback about ad placement. I fully support, and respect, the risk taken to drop it in at the end. Thumbs up for that alone. I've always been happier letting it play off at the end, because generally speaking, I'm doing something by that time anyway. It's the being placed on hold immediately at the start of a call, that sees me skip more videos that I come across, than anything. After all, It's too easy to judge a book by its cover, and decide that we don't want to wait, before hearing what someone has to say. I'm going to let that add play through again on a fresh view.

thank you so much for all the information. could you show us some examples of how the scaned picutres look like after a picture? Do you go back to your notes or just like it because it's reusable? If I need to go back to my notes, what additional tool do you recommend to group the notes. For example, putting the pictures in OneNote or something else? I have a laptop and a cellphone. I don't want to spend the whole money to buy an ipad, and I really like to take notes for Maths, languages, and my daily todo- brain dumps.

Are you able to edit the digital copy at a later time? I am a school secretary and have several categories of tasks to take care of. Typically this would be on a dry erase board in my office but we are such a small school that I have 3 stations I am at for more than 1 hour each day. I would like to esentially use it as a dry erase board for tasks in my 5 to 6 categories and then erase them as I get those done. I use google chrome as well so I could save my pages to a documents - Just trying to see if it would make sense because I make notes but then can't erase and end up starting a new page in my note book. It does work it is a system of notebook dividers and I just maintain tasks in each section. This sounds like I could designate a page but keep updating it.... Can you erase one line like on a white board?

Hey Shaun - the ability to one page over and over is super nice, and you can make a template and use it over and over. See the video that I put up today :) Thanks so much

One of the largest reasons I use this is for my college class notes. Its the same tactile experience of writing in a paper notebook and all my notes are stored digitally and automatically sorted into chapters and the like. I prefer this infinitely over typing out basic notes in my phone or having a dozen notebooks that I have to sort through to find anything I wrote previously. It might not be as beneficial if you don't take long, extensive notes regularly; but if you do, It is the perfect tool for the job. Not to mention it has so many benefits while only being a one time purchase of around $25.

Thank you, your perspective was very helpful. I've just heard of Rocketbook and your video was the one I found. I wasn't familiar with the concept of Rocketbook, so I would like to ask: can I use a capillary pen with it?
@morningcoach4 жыл бұрын
AHHHHH I am not sure on the pen, I have only used the Frixon brand so far - thanks for asking
@LaEmporoar3 жыл бұрын
It recommends only using frixion pens and markers as other brands don't use the washable ink formula Pilot does. Any other types of ink will not come off the pages. If you want to use calligraphy pens with the digitization features of a rocketbook, the company sells a cheaper notebook that is disposable, meaning it's made of normal paper instead of a synthetic polymer.
@AssasinZorro3 жыл бұрын
I have received my RocketBook A5. The first thing that struck me was the fact that it feels like a whiteboard, not like paper. I might get used to it in time, but currently it is hard to ignore. Also, A5 feels smaller because of the borders. I did not expect any of that after watching your first impressions. Did you have those two issues at first?
@kimbellern3 жыл бұрын
How would you say the Rocketbook and fusion pens are for ink drying time and smudging?
@lesdwarf Жыл бұрын
How long does it take for the ink to dry after writing, does it smudge? Does the pen last as long as regular pens?
@CarlZaluskiPerdapt2 жыл бұрын
I got a Rocketbook as a gift and I don't know if I would use it. I am not convinced it's needed. Aside from saving paper becuase you re-use the same notebook, I don't see a reason for it. Why couldn't you have any type of scanning app that scans and saves your notes for you? In other words, notes that you write on regular paper are then scanned and can be saved to Google drive or the cloud or wherever. So again, is the only rationale for having a Rocketbook to save trees? I'm not being critical, just trying to understand and make sense of it all.
@Jeff-gt1ll2 жыл бұрын
Carl, I thought the same thing and just got a rocket book for my wife and am thinking of getting one for my work. I am in IT (old school still like to draw and write on paper )so when I am doing architecture design or code design I will make mistakes and instead of crossing things out I usually will throw paper away. Kind of like what you see on TV when a writer doesn't like the first sentence of a chapter. I am looking at the rocket book so that I don't have to scribble things out etc. I can just erase and start over on that one part. Saving trees should not be a concern to anyone, it is the most sustainable and renewable product we have on this planet. We have been planting and replanting trees for MANY years. I was in forestry/natural resources in college and really enjoyed it and seeing what the US forest service does.

I appreciate you put these videos together. Biggest weakness of this and remarkable for students when teachers are using PowerPoint slides. With the iPad it can quickly download the slides and is very easy to go back and forth between slides. Added benefit you can actually record the lecture too if you’re using note taking apps like notability. How do you handle note taking when power point slides are used?
@morningcoach4 жыл бұрын
That is a GREAT question. If you could get the slides in advance you could put them in as a pdf and then just work on them with the RM. I personally love notability for this reason. This is where the iPad really does shine. But you could get by if you get the PDF earlier then mark them up.

They also sell plain paper spiral notebooks where you can use any pen, called Rocketbook One. Heat can erase the frixion ink, so here in Phoenix being left in a car might make the writing disappear. I'm thinking of going that route when traveling.

I have one of these. I gave it a really good chance. I still don't get it. I can save notes in various places electronically faster just jotting them on my phone or tablet as is. And I don't understand the need for a special notebook I take a picture of with an app when I can take a regular picture of a regular notebook without an app and still save it in various places even faster. I've tried RocketBook. Just doesn't make sense. Lots of hoops to jump through that don't really make note-taking or record keeping easier. Just weird this is so popular.
