So basically there are 3 regionals for each region. If NA has it one week, then EU has it the next. After 3 regionals, or 6 weeks, the top 5 from those regions (pluss some from the smaller regions) go to the major and compete. Hope this is the answer you were looking for.

Winter split has a groups into double elimination bracket. NRG had already lost earlier this tournament (to G2 even) so they came into this match with a handicap. They’d have to win 2 series in a row to win the final. G2 came into this match undefeated, so they only had to win 1 series to win the final.

Bracket reset. Since they lost in the upper final against g2 they went into the lower final against faze. When that happens you have to win two series
