I didn't expect too much from this episode, just filtering a bit of noise, triggers and self-oscillation on the filter. But it made me understand why Serge is so often used to make feedback patches. I am aware I am only scratching a huge surface here. Feel free to share your feedback tips in the comments so we can all benefit.

Exploration is probably the most important part of modular synthesis.

I would recommend the KZbin channel La Synthèse Humaine for feedback tips, which are all demonstrated on a lovely 4U Serge system. Good times!

I’m not so sure about the philosophical aspects he sometimes bring into his video, but inspiration and concepts to do something new can come from everywhere. And a lot of the music is super nice!

Learn by listening. Eno couldn’t have said it better.

I am not familiar with Brian Eno's work except on early Roxy and Bowie, but I am sure I can relate to a true pioneer.

He is a bottomless well of pithy and thoughful music quotes. Besides being an incredibly intuitive artist, his unerring gravitation to textures and landscapes overlooked by the mass of trend setters, leaves me with the strong impression that you share with him far more than you realize. I suggest giving Taking Tiger Mountain by Stradegy, Here Come The Warm Jets and Another Green World. Then delve into Before And After Science and Nerve Net. These are a few of my favs. Eno tends to do his best work in collaboration with other strong talents. Robert Fripp has played on a number of projects as well as other folks. You won't be disappointed.

@@arpmoog Thanks for sharing! I will listen to it tomorrow when I am cleaning up the studio (again). Quite messy after doing 7 episodes.

WOW ! I really need to take some time to build me a serge/west coast system one of these days. i made some wavefolder boards to give them a try, and i guess next time i'll try an lpg. but i am realy intreeged by these voltage and slew processors. And i have to say i like the sound of those oscilators.... And i got a bunch of 3900's...

@@CinematicLaboratory you can, it's just a matter of time. start with a simple kit. i could send what you'd need to build something if your whilling to post a demo... i'll help if you have any trouble... i have tons of spare stuff i made for experiment, and/or didnt have time to build yet...

@@CinematicLaboratoryit‘s a different hobby, but you can totally do it. Soldering prepared DIY kits and open hardware (you can easily order PCBs and parts) is not difficult. Only designing your own circuits is on another level. However, you will see some white and blue smoke and you will pay for the learning curve with failed projects.
