A few things: 1. Yes, Emily was born into it, but in all of her lyrics, she bashes Scientology. Just listen to The Emptiness Machine. A few thoughts: 1) this report did not tell us anything we didn't already know, so it hasn't done anything to change my status as a fan, 2) I find it incredibly hard to believe that she intimidated the victims during the hearing considering that, according to on-the-ground reporting, she wasn't even in the courtroom that day, and 3) Chester's mom and son are 100% not reliable sources. They both believe in the conspiracy theories that he didn't unalive himself. Jaime especially is completely unhinged, and he needs serious, serious help.

the problem is that a lot of her alleged faith DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS everything Chester believed in. Scientology pretty much believes mental health disorders literally aren't real, which is a big part of what this band sings about, and also is why Chester isnt here with us anymore. Most haters have already made up their mind because ultimately they don't want Linkin Park to ever make music again because Chester made his selfish decision. However I want to say: it's important to note how much of this nonsense controversy is outside Emily's control. Emily doesn't get to choose who her parents are, where she was born, what religion her family was involved in when she was a child, and therefore what her understanding of the world was before she was an adult. She had no control over any of that. She admitted she *went to court* in support of Danny Masterson. She had no idea what he had done. She only knew him as a "friend" and we don't even fully know how well that means she knew him as given their age difference she was most likely a child when she knew him as a friend. This does not mean she supported him while he was doing horrible things. This was most likely a complete shock to her, and she realized what this was far too late- which makes complete sense. She distanced herself once she realized what was happening. Nothing in her apology, whether you find it to be enough of an apology or not, indicates otherwise. Lastly: if she *is* "still getting audited"- thereby still being in Scienology- you can only speculate as to why. You don't know her reasons for that. Leaving Scientology has huge repercussions on the cult members lives. She would literally have to give up her entire family, maybe friends, maybe others. No contact ever again. How is it on you to ask her to do that? How she deals with that is on her. It's none of anyone else's business. My conclusion: leave her alone. She did nothing wrong, and this whole controversy is complete bull meant to drag her down because ultimately certain people don't want her to sing for Linkin Park, don't want Linkin Park to move on and continue playing music, and some of it is scientology propaganda. Everything points to Scientology not being something she actively chose to be involved with, but something that was forced upon her at a young age, and something that persistently clashed with her true passions. I think Emily deserves to be given a chance like anyone else, now more than ever seems like there might be a path for her to get out of the cult, and I won't fault her for not being outspoken about it since she has so much personal, family stuff at stake.

I was at their amazing concert in Paris, at La Defense Arena, and it was packed. I never got to see LP live before, so this was like a dream come true for me. I had such a great time, as did the band it would seem. I am going to one of their shows next year again 100%.

Im sorry but this is kinda getting old but lets get some things straight all religion stuff aside when it comes to the court proceedings there is zero chance that she didnt know what he was facing prison time for! In fact they will not let you speak unless they know that you know what the case is about! Most usually the judge will ask you directly before you even speak. So trying to act like she didnt know until after is pretty disingenuous at best! She knew full well why he was there! Personally I feel bad for the children that grow up in these kinds of cult like religions but at the end of the day she was an adult when she tried to defend her friend in court no matter the religion! But whats done is done like her hate her whatever but lets move on she is the singer its happening! Personally glad to see a whole new generation get to experience Linkin Park and perhaps even bring some folks together!

Haven't you already talked about this months ago? Bands replace singers all the time, even after a lead as great as Chester has passed. I think people will find anything to hate on Emily, because of their dedication to Chester and I get that. For me, I recognize that bands replace their leads after a member dies, quits or is fired. I do not get why people are so upset about LP doing the same, especially since LP was started by Mike.

To Chester's family: The band isn't erasing him. Chester erased himself. The band is called Linkin Park, not Chester's band. They have every right to move on with their careers. Sorry for your loss but I can now see why your son was depressed..

I don't see why people are so butt hurt about LP moving on with a new singer. And I'd like to know if the die hard Chester fans feel that Chester was a stain on STP when he joined their band. And if Chester was an insult to Scott Weiland's legacy for taking the job. It's like people forget there were several other artists that made LP a success and the vibe - not just Chester. Eddie Van Halen coined the term "lead singer disease" in regard to David Lee Roth. In this case, I wonder if some fans suffer the same LSD disease.

I appreciate your insight on Emily Armstrong's controversies. There is one thing I feel like should have been mentioned though, which may or may not be true. That has to do with the fact that according to her Wikipedia, Emily Armstrong is queer. Should that be the case, I think it's safe to say that Emily is partially or fully removed from the Church of Scientology due to its strong beliefs against the LGBTQ+ community. I could be wrong, but I feel like sharing this in case it provides a little more context on her alleged Scientology stance. Either way, she's a badass singer and I support Linkin Park's decision to add her as a member (obviously unless new details arise). That, and also, Colin Brittain does not get nearly as much credit as he deserves for being Rob Bourdon's successor as Linkin Park's drummer. Both Emily and Colin are incredible and I'm glad I saw them both live.

@ooo_Kim_Chi_ooo That's the thing buddy. I'm not trying to make an excuse for Emily. You and I both know as much as we're let on for right now. Scientology was the religion she was born into. We know nothing about her current ties with it. So why are you so quick to judge? We're living in a time where we cancel everyone and everything over accusations, especially when they come from sources with little to no evidence. I'm not defending the actions of Danny Masterson with this statement, may that POS rot in hell, nor am I trying to foster the thought that we should defend potential abusers and bad people. But this girl got slandered like all hell not even hours after she was revealed to be the new LP singer, and she even addressed this herself. So, what I'm saying is, until we have concrete proof that she did worse than simply supporting Masterson at a single trial, I'm not going to boycott LP because of that. And with that in mind, chill yourself
