Very nice, wonderful condition. I've got a pair of each version of the audiophile 12s the older ones I believe were the ones with flat dust cap. An odd feature of this model is the fact that they actually added weight in the dust cap to keep flutter down and increase the accuracy of the woofer. Just wonderful attention to detail. Love your vids keep em coming.

Thanks for watching! I didn't know about the dust cap. I know JBL used to do something similar to the woofers in their high end cabinets. They would add an aluminum ring to the top of the voice coil. They called it a mass ring because it added weight.

very nice punch,audiophile,pro I belive Big D would know for sure. I had a set of audiophile 5 1/4 plates in the dash of the 92 s10 those look new 👍

I just sold a set of these. They are pretty good and when used with the Audiophile tweeters, they sound really nice. Have you secured a set of old school Image Dynamics 6.5's to include in this test?

No BS I was looking for Image dynamics yesterday. Almost bought some IDQ v1 subs but I got lots of 6.5 to buy. I will probably add some ID 6.5 either old or new.

@@brentb5303 I have a new, never powered set of V1 IDQ 15's but no 6.5 mids. Always wondered how their mids compared to some of the other well known brands.

@@msh6865 If I can find some we will find out. Image dynamics doesn't get the love it deserves. Kind of like MMATS, great gear but hardly ever mentioned.

Ya back when companies engineered stuff instead of just ordering from overseas stock. Btw they even spent more time to make a cool box to package them in back then.

It's funny you mention the box. My buddy who is from the younger generation mentioned how much better the boxes looked back then. Now they are all glossy with a bunch of lies printed on the outside. "10,000 Max Watts" then it only has like 100 amps of fuses.

Yea for sure. Let me pin down when I'm going to start the test videos and I'll get you my email. It would be super helpful. I got to buy an SPL meter and sourcing some of the top gear from back then can add up fast. If I could test some and then ship it to you it would offset some cost and allow for testing of specific drivers you want to see. My buddy Keith has some and he is willing to participate in the more objective judging. Maybe we could have a meet up like Big D has to have many people get a chance to chime in. I just have to make sure I keep it within a scope I deliver on. I just don't want to open a can of worms. It could be super cool though. Get some of this awesome gear out of the boxes they've been in for the last 20-30 years.
