I have a 12 and 15 version of the p3, i love these subs for the reliability, i use a punch 1000 that puts 940 at 2 ohms to one of these bad boys depending which one i wanna bump and it handles it nicely. My brother was pushing the 15 p3 with his T1000 Rockford that puts 1450 at 2 ohms and it handled it nicely and we tried to blow it but couldnt, very under rated subs

Running a Rockford Fosgate P3-1X12 wired 1ohm powered by a Rockford Fosgate Prime R750-1D in my 2013 Hyundai sonata and it slams so hard! People think I have a pair of 15s going! Nope just a single p3 1ohm set up! This amp and sub match made in heaven and only cost me $425 for amp and sub in single Rockford fosgate enclosure! Try this set up people I promise you wont be disappointed

I thought it would get a higher WOW factor. The cone is aluminum to dissipate heat from the voice coil, thus improving durability and the tinsel leads are sandwiched between two spiders. The gimmicky boot made it seem deceitful but it’s just esthetic. Great vids though, always love to learn about old school audio.

Another good review Robert. I think the RF P3 series are too often overlooked as a solid all purpose sub. Not too sure about that oversized rubber boot though. Maybe RF was hoping buyers would think that was covering a big honking magnet? Keep up the good work! -Mark

Picked one of these up in a ported box on craigslist for 30$ for my work truck and I was impressed with the SQ as well.I have two w6v3s in my personal car and the rockford doesn't sound as good as those but i also didn't pay 30$ for those

I’ve built a couple of ported boxes for shallow p3s, I tuned them to around 40 hertz and they bump LOW and accurate, My work truck currently has a p3s powered by a JL 500/3 and the bass feels massive.

I've heard the p3 in 3 different ported box's and like most subs it's picky with the box volume and port tuning. it seemed to like a smaller box tuned around 34htz in a integra . That set up gave a good compromise of spl and sq.

I have the old skool p3-15" wired at 2ohms pushed by my JBL club pushing only 550 rms and they bang hard. I have my Rockford 801s in the shop Blew it banging the 15s at 2ohms can't wait to get it back but these two subs really hit hard and have my entire car vibrating

I'm running a p3d4 12 in my car in a slot ported box tuned to 32 hz driven by a prime 250.1 a little under powered I know but it sounds like two 12s also running cdt 6.5 mids and punch tweets with a prime 150.2 up front . great reveiw.

@Aaron Ornelas I hear this a lot, maybe it's true. But I've never blown a Rockford. I've only sold them or once had a break in. I still have see my old Punch 500 and DVC 12s from the late 90s I sold to my USMC buddy that still knocks with daily use since then. Rockford is true to ratings and durable. Again, I sold a punch 500 and 2 12 inch DVCs that lasted since 1997. He commutes from Oceanside to San Diego 5 days a week. 3 different vehicles but same subs and amp for decades. If you're a buy once type of person you can't beat that kind of durability.

Mickey Pietrzak this one definitely surprised me. I guess it was the look of the sub that put me off, but it performs very well. I really loved the punch dvc and power series of the late nineties so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised.
