I did this mod without a shallow RF. I modified the depth by cutting the bottom plastic out and patching the hole with many layers of dynamat.

Nice. I would love to hear how that sounds. I'm still thinking of doing more work on the SQ7 to get an externally mounted amp + a custom subwoofer box.

Wonder if the subwoofer enclosure is the same footprint for the base 10 speaker Q7? Wouldn’t mind getting a used sub box on EBay and throwing in a Rockford Fosgate

In the video I note that the box is actually ported. Not that you can't do poly + ported boxes, but I'm not entirely sure what resonance you'd get from the box given the poly. Let me know if you end up doing it love to hear the results! Thanks for stopping by!

Did this to my sq7 recently. Sounds great. Def noticeable. Only issue is with certain songs on xm if I turn the volume up too much the channel cuts out if there’s too much bass in the song. Any ideas?

I have not had this issue. It makes me wonder if its the amp overheating, or it's a cutoff in the amp since the bass will output in both the subwoofer and the midrange speakers as well.

Mesmo o fosgate tendo mais potência, o altofalante bose tem maior frequência de ressonância pelo desenho da carcaça favorecer a maior excursão de ar com menor potência aplicada. Fosgate precisa de maior excursão do cone e consequentemente maior potência para dar mais db´s. Eu tinha trocado por um alto falante de mesma característica do bose mas com potência maior. E para o estéreo acompanhar o subgrave, tem que aumentar a potência do estéreo para casar com a frequência e volume do grave. Mas o teste é válido e dá idéia de como melhorar o sistema sonoro.

Mientras conducía con el reemplazo de caída de Rockford Fosgate (ya que coincidía tanto en vatios, requisitos volumétricos e impedancia), puedo decir que las notas graves más profundas suenan mucho mejor. Is this correct for a 2021 Q8 with the Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D Sound System?

The Bang and Olufsen system has WAY more power than the Bose system. I think the Bose is 558 watts (total), whereas the Bang and Olufsen is 1900 Watts powered by a Class D (super strong) amplifier. So this really only applies to the Bose 3D setup. I'll update the title to be a little more clear on it. Good call out.

@@benjumper8838 Absolutely. Both have enough power but you could go with a subwoofer that can handle more power in the B&O if you wanted.
