Great video! I went with the Artillian system when I got the fork frame because I plan on adding a grapple later on. Then I found out they were located 10 miles from work! So no shipping. The factory is huge (they are in the Curtis Cab building) Really nice folks there. I met the founder of Artillian Tom Doxee - he helped me load my vehicle!

Another advantage of the modular artillian system for me is I can lift the pieces by hand into my truck bed since I don’t have a lot of room on the trailer.
@stephenseiwert96723 жыл бұрын
Good video, Thanks! If you change between pallet forks and Grapple and bucket like I do then it would be time consuming to reconfigure the frame each time. I would rather just hook up to what I need and go get the job done.

It is a little bit. Sometimes I just grab the other set of pallet forks. It’s really more of a perception that it takes longer. I set a timer and it took about a minute and a half to take the grapple off and put forks on The other way you already have to get off the tractor twice to pull the pins out and then put them back in so it’s not much different. The system is really convenient if you want to take multiple attachments with you, you can set all the pieces in the bed of your truck and still have a different attachment on the front of the tractor It also saves people money if you want all of these attachments you only have to buy the frame once It also saves space in your equipment area. All that said I sometimes just grab my other set of forks

A tip for adjusting fork tines side to side. Raise the boom so you can tilt the forks forwards enough to see the bottom of the fork heel start to separate from the bottom frame rail. It should basically be hanging by the top rail. This reduces the friction to half and removes the binding between the top and bottom rail to where you can almost slide them side to side with a couple of fingers. A little lube on the rail helps a lot too.

Thanks for the comparison! As someone with a new 1025r and looking at grapples, I needed this. Thanks for including the comparison of the forks fitting the frame. I have a frontier pallet forks and thought about switching to the Artillian line. This will save me money on the tines.

@@RockhillfarmYT That's the Frontier grapple you showed. When they first came out (mine is series #05) in 2019, the grapple lid had a round tube. Mine was replaced last spring with the new updated square tubing top lid. Thus we have the same Frontier grapple AV20F... unless they just changed the model number.

Gotcha. It’s a good Grapple. If I didn’t have a grapple or a set of pallet forks I would probably go with the artillian set, but if you already have them there’s no reason to replace it

a real down to earth guy ...... thank you! I am in the market for a grapple I just bought a 1025 r I am weighing the differences right now I am on a fixed income so cost is a big thing with me will the artillian grapple fit the John Deere fork frame also I am well aware of the lift capacities of the tractor and some of the grapples out there weigh as much as 500 lbs
@RockhillfarmYT2 жыл бұрын
The height is right for the grapple to go on the John Deere frame but it would have to have the slots cut in it at the perfect spots along the top because that’s how you latch the attachments in. Initially the Artillian grapple is more expensive, But once you have the frame the other attachments become less expensive. For instance, a very popular stump bucket like the one from Goodworks tractor is $1200. If you already have the Artillian frame then their Stump bucket is only $600. The frame is around $800 making the total $1400 As you can see, if you only buy the stump bucket, it is a little more expensive, but you only have to buy the frame once so adding additional pieces is less expensive

i have a 1025r as well. looking at both of these. artillian with 1 grapple and the frontier. i’ll mainly be using it for 12-15’ foot logs for firewood. does either one out perform the other with this task?
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say that either one out performs the other. Either one will pick up the same log. I prefer artillian for a few reasons. 1. The angle on the bottom tines makes it more user-friendly to get underneath a log at a natural angle 2. it’s a modular system which means you can always add things to it or make changes later, but it also means that if it was damaged you wouldn’t have to replace the whole thing. 3. I think the build quality is higher on the artillian. 4. Back to being a modular set up, but I think the Front hoe bucket is really useful if you don’t have a Back hoe. If you already have the grapple it doesn’t cost much to add another attachment like the front hoe or the three point hitch adapter
@toddzeliznik98083 жыл бұрын
@@RockhillfarmYT thanks for the quick response and insight. main reason i was thinking the frontier was for the weight. looks like it’s 50# less which is a good amount for the 1025r. thank you again for the info. love the channel!
@greatmoose173 жыл бұрын
@@toddzeliznik9808 I decided on the Frontier grapple. So far it's been great, the right color, bought through my dealer, and I'm very pleased with it. I'm 63 and lugging stuff on and off the frame to change attachments wasn't appealing for me. Plus, I already have the Frontier loader plow and a backhoe for my 1025r. I do like Artillian's pallet forks though. I have a cheap set of HLA pallet forks and the frame has already bent. The Artillian loader plow setup is float only too, where the Frontier loader plow has down pressure and float. Just some things to consider if you like the Artillian modular approach.

Do you think the Artillian stump bukket would fit a Titan fork rakk?
@khtractors3 жыл бұрын
If I get a loader for my BX I’d like to try the Artillian system. I just wonder if it would stand up to the M6060? I know it’s rated at 3,000 pounds but when you get to pushing and prying on things it will apply a lot more force. I’ve built two sets of forks, one for myself and a neighbor. I’d like to weigh them and see what they weigh. Good comparison, I’d definitely go with the Artillian if purchasing new.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I think it would stand up to the force of the tractor but I don’t know if it would seem wide enough on a big tractor like yours. It’s only about 4 feet wide It would be perfect on the BX. I love your homemade forklift/grapples. Somebody needs to mass produce that
@donalexander40832 жыл бұрын
have you ever tried to put the artillian grapple on the JD fork frame?
@mkc00053 жыл бұрын
I was going to comment about how my Frontier Pallet Fork frame wasn't the same as yours when I decided to look at it a little closer. Turns out, even though I bought it from a JD Dealer, it's not a Frontier. The forks do not come off unless you unbolt a tube that the forks slide on and then remove it first. A real PITA if you want to change to shorter/longer forks. I'm getting ready to set my 3038E up for an Artillian grapple and am frustrated that I have to buy the fork frame first. If I had known then I wouldn't have gotten the forks that I have now.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you buy into the Artillian system you only have to buy that frame the first time but it is a bite on that first one. My fork frame actually is not Frontier either. I thought it was but it’s not. Weird that the forks don’t come off easily on yours
@mkc00053 жыл бұрын
@@RockhillfarmYT Yeah my forks have a larger tube on the back that slides on a smaller tube on the frame. You have to unbolt that smaller tube and slide it out to take the forks off. I guess one advantage is that you’re not limited to spacing since the forks don’t sit in cutouts on the frame.

Ok I have some questions. What does the artilian frame weight with the guard on it. Have to tried to put the grapple sections in the frontier fork frame. What’s the price differences between the frontier and the artillian also.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
According to the website, the top rail weighs 23 pounds, so the frame would way 110 with the rail I don’t think the artillian Grapple would fit on the other frame unless you cut notches and drilled holes in it to accommodate mounting I don’t remember the exact cost of the pallet forks from the dealer. I should look it up though
