Today I risked it all to do some rockhounding on a new Wisconsin beach. I typically don't do rockhounding by myself but today was a solo mission. Having a bad elbow, it probably wasn't the best idea I've ever had but I trusted the rope that was at the edge of the cliff and made my way down. When I reached the bottom it was all worth it, the rocks were abundant so my Wisconsin rockhounding adventure was well worth the risk. However, climbing back up the cliff was a bit sketchy as it started raining and the path turned to a muddy mess. The rockhounding mission proved successful as I found a ton of great rocks, fossils and other treasures! Come along and experience the adventure with me! Which side of Lake Michigan is better for rock collection? WI or MI? I may be in the Muskegon MI area frequently and am curious if I should look at areas to the north or south?

Both sides have their perks, WI is pretty consistent from north to south but Michigan has petosky stones which I have yet to find on the Wisconsin side. I’ve heard that the northern half of Michigan is best but I’ve never personally hunted it yet.

Awesome hunting 😎 I love when the rain uncovers the beauty in the rocks. Love epidote, jaspers, churt omgosh all of them lol especially the beach glass. I rarely find it anymore sadly.

Haha I have her do a double check on the edits before rendering the video and when she got to that part I could feel ‘the glare’ …if looks could kill🤣
