Most botanical gardens and parks request that one visit, enjoy that visit, and leave things as you find them. Don't pick plants, flowers, and don't remove natural elements, including rocks, soil, animals of any species (even dead wood without explicit permission). This is literally the first of a very short list one will find on the Asheville Botanical Gardens website. These places, usually nonprofits, operate on tight budgets, often relying on volunteers for labor. Folks who visit and take away items from the environment change that environment, even if only in tiny ways. Imagine the cumulative effect if every visitor took a few moments of their visit. There are myriad places to go to for rock collection, including panning, creeking, and digging. We should all please be respectful and go to them for our rock hounding joys. Respect is key.

Funny that a national park that our tax dollars pay for says it's illegal for you to pick up a rock. Talk about unjust rule?...law? Land of the free....unless you wanna pick up a rock or two🤣🤣

I have been there to see the plants on a couple of occasions. Now I have another reason to check it out!

22:19 these artifacts are found all over North Carolina, that is the heart-shaped bird motif. They’re called effigies, I’m located in North Carolina as well. You could check out some of my finds. I teach people how to see the art.

A homeless camp...really? You were on private property genius. Residents around here are tired of foolish trespassing tourists. Not a good idea bruh.
