It is rare for a legend to record songs equally as good as stuff they recorded back in the 50s. Ray campi is the only other that springs to mind.

So many great rockabilly stars from the 50s and Ronnie was right up there and stuck with the genre to the end. RIP Ronnie. We miss you .

I DJ'd the hell out of this song at my record hop. Good times! I was fortunate enough to see him half a dozen times, once with High Noon & Lisa, the other with Nick Curran RIP) backing him.

good for you John, where were you deejaying ?. I remember it being the biggest dancefloor hit of the Hemsby weekender when it was released in '96, and then at all the UK clubs, as you say all the DJs were playing it, a real dancefloor filler. We were also lucky enuff to see Ronnie several times, since his first UK visit in (Weymouth weekender '86), in fact we spotted him strolling around the camp some hours before his show and we chatted to him, a really lovely guy to meet. He visited the UK several times after that, always great shows and always happy to meet the fans. Particularly memorable show was Hemsby '97, for this show he had his usual American backing band, which included ex- members of High Noon and the Horton Brothers iirc (and Lisa P), it was billed as the last time they played together, and Ronnie and the band left the stage sharing hugs and tears.... a great night.

@@RockinRedRover Denver. I had my own record hop at 3 clubs. The scene here was incredibly strong & of course there was the Denver weekender. The 90s was such an incredible time to be involved with everything. I dearly miss it. I held the after parties after the Denver Weekender at Market 41. Had Jump Cat Jump, Kim Lenz, Go Getters, Hillbilly Hellcats, The Jinns, & so many others play. The club is huge & we completely sold them out of liquor lol I just remember the stroll lines as long as long as a French protest the minute 4 O'clock baby came on lol Moved to Germany shortly after & DJ'd at a rockabilly club in Oberhausen. Great times! Ronnie was always a great show. It was always a bonus when High Noon was backing him because you got 2 concerts in 1.

@@JohnDeBord thanks. So the Denver weekender was in the 90s was it, I'd have guessed was later - purely based on friends who visited the States every few months for their business (sourcing 50s vintage clothes to sell here), and they always said it was a real struggle to find any rockin scene/events to speak of, altho come to think of it don't think they went to Texas so... Yes I've often seen how the rockin scenes can sell-out venues, right back to the early 80s, no matter how many times you warn some venues, they refuse to believe just HOW much we'll drink haha, and sadly that can come back to haunt them if some people get too angry. Sad to read that Nick Curran's no longer with us, wasn't he Kim Lenz' guitarist too at one time ?. Here in UK these last few years we've lost a lot of our friends n faces from the scene, covid and all the mental crap from the lockdowns etc got too much for some, but then again some of these people may have died relatively young (late 50s +), but they'd prob played far too hard in their youth, here in the UK there was far too much drugs in the 80s n 90s rockabilly scene and some folk didnt know their limits and it catches up... Yes can well believe you enjoyed Germany, when Hemsby was at its peak late 90s and the "weekender" became a week lol, there were huge numbers of Germans there, many brought their vintage cars n bikes on the ferries, most of them were great fun we had some good times and made some good friends. I've not visited Germany, but we did some of the Dutch events CruiseInn etc before that, they were similar. Happy daze !!. And yes, Ronnie became an absolute legend here, partly cos he was such a genuine, likeable, modest man, sadly missed !. Take care sir.

@@JohnDeBord regarding our German friends, you may have already seen it, but this video(and it's follow-up) gives a good indication how they liked enjoying themselves. You prob know the band (the Sureshots from Newcastle, north England) have been around since the mid 80s and are themselves party animals, but in this case their new and younger drummer hadn't paced his drinking very well before the show... and by n large in those days Brits wern't used toshots or shorts, were more into beer n cider. "prost". kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGGkioCllpeimqc

@@RockinRedRover Yup I sure know the Sureshots, great band! And that's a great song! Thanks for sharing it. Germans definitely know how to party that's for sure. I've never seen so much beer in my life lol

not certain when it was recorded, but we first heard it in 1996, when it was the title track of Ronnie's latest cd on No Hit Records. I remember it being the biggest dancefloor hit of that year's Hemsby weekender, and then at all the UK clubs. Fantastic !

God loves you and He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today & repent!
