Actually, in the 90's it was a localization norm to cut these "weird jap songs" out of US versions , save some rare exceptions like Rival Schools (to get pure anime feels) and Megaman X6 (due to laziness/lack of time to deliver the US ver.).

The Japanese is my native language. I think the translation is good enough, but the original meanings in some parts were kind of lost in the translated version. For instance, the last part of the lyrics, "Escape this crazy present!", the original is more like "I wanna burn down this crazy present" 狂った今を焼き捨てたい.

Also, when you break it down, this opening isn't that special as it's just Mega Man doing stuff (yes, it's awesome and a cool way to show off the first seven games but it's not that full of personality as Needlemouse is making out to be). Also, you're being kinda defensive now and that's just making my point stronger. This is all subjective but you're acting like he's speaking the truth but in reality, you're just blinded by nostalgia.

Almost nobody actually likes 2, they just say it's one of the best Mega Man games because popular gaming youtubers and media outlets like Brentalfloss, Screw Attack, AVGN etc. fed everyone this opinion back in the day and they believed it. 1, 2, 4, and 9 are shit and by contrast 7,8, and 11 are the peak of classic in terms of gameplay and design.
