You can sequence the J-6 from the circuit, then let the j-6 sequence the circuit.

Thanks. I’m hoping to trigger a synth sequence to start with my circuit rhythm (actually the rhythm is started thru midi from a beat buddy). I’ll have the synth on a volume pedal so I can pull it in and out of the mix. Do you know if the j6 would work for this? I’m a guitar player, total noob to the synth/not-guitar world. Thanks for any advice. I just need a synth that is relatively easy to program that will start/stop on midi that doesn’t sound awful.

Hello, I think it should work, though don't quote me on that. The Rhythm is much like the Circuit Tracks in that it is also made by Novation, and so I assume it can also sync to other equipment using the Midi cable.

What’s this new obsession with people being “dawless “ all about ? Is this the new black sort of thing ? Is it just a new way for people to spend their money instead of actually making music …. Now that they have exhausted every vst under the sun ? “ so now that we have everything.. now what ? Hmm.. I know ! what if now we get rid of it ! and spend more money while we are at it , who cares about making music , it is all about the rush of buying useless gear.. lol for me the DAW has always been a very secondary thing , my guitar and my keys are my goto , the Daw is a simple way to lay down the track that’s all.

I kind of agree with you to some extent. DAWless gear can seem like a backward step compared with the power and versatility that Computer-based DAWS offer. But there are certain attractions to using outboard gear. The limitations of DAWless force us to be more creative. It puts us more in touch with the roots of electronic music and provides a tactile hands-on experience. We make do with the limited sounds, which helps us to settle on decisions quickly and move on to the next step in the process. Don't get me wrong, I love using my DAW but using DAWless also has its place in my heart.
