So here's a free but slightly convoluted way of shifting pitch in Rocksmith if you have an audio interface: Google "low-latency Rocksmith OBS streaming." This guide contains a lot of useful information, which includes a way to use plugins before sending sound to Rocksmith. Thus, you can use the awesome Pitchproof plugin for downtuning instead of having to deal with loose strings.
