Amazing interview letting other artists that were inspired in some way by Jon ask questions. So much better than the stale, typical questions by every one else. I love Jon and his gray hair. And of course, his 40 yrs of music. Ive been a fan since the very beginning

They (he) ran out of ideas for the last 25 years and don't want to fade from the limelight. Completely tarnished any legacy they might have otherwise left behind.
@samhugh49654 ай бұрын
He’s got some good rock on the new album, but is there a rule where he has to write all up tempo rock? Geezus, he’s 62. His outlook on life has changed. When driving, a song came over a top 40 pop station that caught my attention. It was way different than other current pop I’d heard and really liked it, which is surprising because most of what I hear pop-wise doesn’t appeal to me much. After listening a bit more, I told my husband that it sounded like Bon Jovi, but couldn’t be. I looked at the screen and there it was, Bon Jovi. I had no idea that he even had an album coming out. So even if that particular song is popish, it still sounds way different than what’s normally played, which is why it caught my attention. Part of the problem is that music now uses pitch correction ad nauseam during recording that the vocals lack depth, sounding flat and unnatural. And live isn’t actually live anymore either. Bon Jovi doesn’t use any of that, no autotune or pitch correction.

I hear you. With that said, MCR were a pretty big band for a while
@guitarizt687 ай бұрын
@@blahzay_ Honestly, I've BARELY heard of them. I tend to equate validation of rock stardom to being worldwide household names, & they certainly don't qualify.
@blahzay_6 ай бұрын
@@guitarizt68 with respect, you’d have to be pretty out of the loop not to be aware of MCR, even in passing. Their last two albums sold a combined 8 million units in the US alone, they were all over radio and mtv during that time. I’m not a fan by any means but I’m well aware of their music just through their sheer popularity back in the mid-late 00s
@guitarizt686 ай бұрын
@@blahzay_ Respectfully, and conversely, YOU could also be one of those people who are a little TOO into music; so much so that you attempt to familiarize yourself with bands coming out of every corner, and therefore, M.C.R. appeared on your radar. I didn't say that I hadn't heard of them in passing, I said that I'd BARELY heard their name, and I couldn't tell you a single song by them if my life depended upon it. I don't believe in the number of sales you allege, MTV hasn't been relevant for anyone with a modicum of intellect to watch in over a quarter-century (at LEAST), and "rock radio" hasn't featured more than a handful (& I'm being generous) of decent contemporary artists within the same time-period, and M.C. R. DEFINITELY wasn't one of them. "Rock Stars" transcend and become household names, and M.C.R. just doesn't even remotely qualify.
