That was the golden era of video games. The company which started as a group of creative and experimental dudes, is also didn't afraid to mess up with censorship or angry parents, degraded to the level of making 1 game(GTA) in 10+ years and a crappy family friendly remaster of the GTA trilogy, what a shame… That’s why we’ll probably never see Manhunt 3, Bully 2 or even another Midnight Club. Sad reality.

We have a podcast series over here in the UK called My Perfect Console. The premise of it is that prominent members of the gaming community come on and list 5 games that define their life. 3 months ago, the guest was Jack Thompson. I'd highly recommend listening to it as he's still resolute about what he fought for. It's easy to fly off the handle at him, but it's at least interesting to hear the story retrospectively from the mouth of the man himself. It's a very detailed breakdown of the whole campaign.

No one will ever change my mind that GTAV was the worst possible thing that could have happened to Rockstart. They quite literally made all the money, (single most profitable piece of media of all time), and it fundamentally changed their development cycle/philosophy.

I’ll never forget seeing GTA III for the first time. I was only 7 at the time in early 2002 and it absolutely blew my mind. Then SA came out later on.. even crazier!

Another banger bruv! Hard not to be nostalgic for classic Rockstar, makes me wonder what’s going to come from Dan Housers new company. I second the opinion that Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is the best racing game ahead of R4, bonus points for having my hometown Detroit on the roster. Just bummed we’ll never get the Bully 2 that was binned… one of my all time favorites. 🤦🏻‍♂️

*Midnight Club Los Angeles was still developed by R** *San Diego , while MC Los Angeles Remix was actually developed by R** *London* *GTA Vice City was technically a sequel, twas more of a prequel of the plot of III era let's say*

from the stone age to the middle ages to modern times men have always been fighting but poeple forgot thousands of years of human history and b lamed violence on games. it makes no sense. in fact i know that poeple who play games and enjoy art in general are some of the least violent poeple. when i think of convincted criminals i seriously doubt they have videogame collections. as for rockstar what more can be said about them. real western artists from an era when they were allowed to express themselves which is why their games reasonated with an entire generation. they knew what we wanted because they were one of us. and its easy to tell that the products are not corporatized because they are relatable. i doubt a company like this would have survived this long if it started in 2010s. but things are starting to change a bit in the last couple of years. so hopefully they dont compromise with gta6. although i may need a new more powerful pc to run 6.

They sure used to be. I just hope they're paying attention to all these AAA titles that flopped. There's still time to shitcan any Sweet Baby Inc-like consultants they may have hired and remove any shoehorned political soapboxing. The first teaser didn't give me anything to worry about, but that story about them "cleaning up the frat house environment of our studio" etc definitely did. Plus all the original talebt is gone now, that's a huge red flag. I don't think the game will flop, but it doesn't have to in order to be a disaster. It just has to fall short of expectations, which is a realistic possibility if players ever get a whiff of DEI stink. And they're gonna be hyper vigilant on this one. Half the gaming space is chomping at the bit to scream that "GTA VI HAS GONE WOKE!!!"
