Thanks for this. Thankfully it worked out the way it did, because Eye of the Tiger is more impactful. I know its what we are used to, and we might have felt differently had it been "Another One bites the dust" as the original, but you can just feel the difference.

There was a part of the movie that Stallone considered the most important and wanted the music was choreographed images. The copy receiving the Survivor, the song that Stallone had placed sample was " Another one bites the dust " of Queen . The song was well with the scene, and even the Survivor Stallone tried to convince that there was no need to change it. This was sincere and said that he too seemed to him perfect, but it was impossible to get the copyrights to the song of Queen .

Rocky III producers approached Queen because they wanted to use the song "Another One Bites The Dust" to enhance the first montage in the movie. Fortunately, that preposterous deal didn't work. Freddie Mercury's deviant mind and cocaine-addicted behaviour would have never matched Rocky's mystique and humans values. Eye of the Tiger is a superior song musically speaking and motivationally speaking as well. It does portray perfectly the Rocky that we all have in our hearts.

Cool video, man. I just showed it to my kids and told them the story about Stallone originally wanting this song for the opening. As it stands, we can all see that Eye of the Tiger is the better fit. But what if you did a re-edit?I think you recut and timed the shots to the beat of the song, you might change some minds. I mean, I know the video is old, but what the heck? Could be a fun weekend project, and worth revisiting.

Now I have more knowledge and editing skills and I'm sure a new version will look good. I have a lot of projects in mind, but if I can at some point, I'm sure I'll re-upload this edited video. This would have been amazing. I feel like it fits so much more. Remove the nostalgia, you can FEEL how mich this intro was framed around this song. Eye of The Tiger is iconic, but the rising tension, the feeling of the coming fall, that rocky himself would soon to bite the dust, god it would have been so powerful.

I think Eye of the Tiger works better because it’s a more dynamic song. Another One Bites the Dust is a little more repetitive with the bass line never changing throughout the song. It does work well in a couple spots where it matches up with Mr T speed punching the heavy bag and when he tosses the one boxer into the post.
