Here on JoBlo Videos, there's no hiding the fact that we're massive Sylvester Stallone fans. We love the guy and we figured, with the success of James Bond Revisited, why not give The Italian Stallion himself the same treatment? So welcome to our all-new show, Sylvester Stallone Revisited, where we re-examine all of Sly's movies, including all the hits, misses, and more!
Rather than go chronologically, we're approaching his career a little differently to keep things fresh. So, we're starting with the great ROCKY III, which pitted Rocky against Mr. T's iconic Clubber Lang. Carl Weather, Talia Shire, Burt Young, and the heartbreaking Burgess Meredith co-star!
Let us know what you think of this new series below and suggest which movies you'd like to see us tackle next!

I grew up on this one, had the poster on my wall as a kid and everything. Back then, I didn’t like the first one because he lost, to a kid, that matters :). The second one always felt like a rehash of the first but instead they made him win… this one had both, the soundtrack, the very 80s look and feel, freakin B.A. and the Hulkster… you couldn’t want more as a kid in the 80s :)

I'm a casual boxing fan, by not means as expect but I like how Rocky 1+2 presents him as a blunt force brawler who wins via knockouts rather than points. His go-to move is uppercuts to the torso. This film give him a boxer with the same style but only better. So he as to learn how to fight differently. Creed teaches him to fight like him, makes him lighter on his feet (the previous films mention his shit foot work) and more defense but attacks via quick jabs to the head. It proves at he's actually a total boxer. Fun fact about Rocky 2, I think he technically slips at the end, rather than gets knocked down meaning he shouldn't have to beat to count to get up. I think this is deliberate to the script, making it a bum call by the ref. This makes literally everything including the sport of boxing against him. For me, that little fact really adds a lot but it still works if you don't know it.

In my version of Rocky V the film opens the same as Stallone's version...in the aftermath of Rocky's fight with Drago. #1 change. Duke Washington does Not show up at the press where Adrian announces Rocky's retirement. #2 change. Rocky does not get cheated out of his fortune #3 change. Tommy Gunn does not meet or get to know Rocky and he wins the heavyweight title halfway through the film. The press react the same to his title win as they did in Stallone's version. Tommy Gunn calls out Rocky for a match and Rocky who has fallen into depression since his retirement looks at the TV and says you got it kid. Tommy's challenge brings Rocky out of his depression and he trains harder then ever before

I’d have to say this is the 2nd best of the rocky movies. 4 being my favorite. But this one translates something that happens in real life to those who achieve success in anything. There’s always a point where you become complacent with your progress and you stop striving for more. And it’s how creed says ; you lose the “eye of the tiger” and it’s sometimes a rough road to get that fire back but for those who keep fighting and struggling, it’s always worth all the pain.

As for Rocky's suspected brain damage he undergoes a battery of second tests and the results show he doesn't have brain damage. The boxing commission orders a third set of tests and the results are borderline. The commission votes on wherever to give Rocky back his boxing license and it's a 2/1 vote in favour of granting his license

F.I.S.T. cast against type? I'll admit I never saw it, but how many roles would you need to be typecast? I didn't think he had that many movie roles yet?

I enjoyed fist, I think the reason why it didn't become popular was because it clearly was about Jimmy Hoffa without saying it was about him & maybe people just wanted the real thing instead.
