Hell of a rendition, awesome job. Don't think I've ever seen a resonator with a claw scoop in the neck before either.

Great sound, Elias!! I'm a clawhammer banjo picker here in Virginia! I pick an openback and a resonator. If I'm feeling Tommy Jarrell or Kyle Creed, I pick the openback. If I'm feeling Wade Ward or Ralph Stanley, I'm picking the resonator. You ought to come on out to the Old Fiddlers Convention in Galax, Va. in August! You'd light 'em up with that great sound!👍

@@shocktones9704 so is that all Ralph was doing essentially? @@huliniswhoiam up picking has a massive chop sound on the downbeat compared to straight up overhand. Clifton Hicks is your man for learning up picking, overhand and 2 finger styles.

Beautiful voice and love your style of playing. Gotta work on the audio. Either record instrumental first and then lay down the song or adjust your mic. Couldn't make out much of the lyrics over the higher pitch of the banjo.
